Construction Estimator
Job Description
Comstock Construction has been building in the region for over 100 years, with a strong reputation for quality, integrity, and long-term relationships. Many of our employees have been here 10+ years, which says a lot about the kind of team we’ve built.

- Prepare accurate cost estimates from conceptual through construction documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and analyze labor, material, and time requirements
- Work with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing
- Review drawings, specs, and project documents to develop complete scopes
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams during preconstruction
- Help track and manage budgets during the estimating phase
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subs, suppliers, and clients
- Continuously look for ways to improve estimating processes and systems
- Experience in construction estimating (commercial preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and Divisions 01–33
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and bid documents
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working with estimating software and Excel
- Strong communication skills—you’ll be working with a lot of people
- Ability to adapt as project scopes and priorities shift
Bonus Points:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with conceptual estimating and budgeting
- Stable company with a strong backlog of work
- Team-oriented environment (people stick around here for a reason)
- Variety of projects—not the same thing over and over
- Opportunity to have a real impact on projects from the start
