Position Summary:

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and planning activities within the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, while optimizing inventory and cost. This role involves working closely with supplies, internal teams (including production, logistics, and sales), and other stakeholders to align demand and supply, as well as implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

10. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align production schedules and material requirements.
11. Develop and maintain a detailed supply plan, adjusting as needed based on market changes, lead times, and production needs.
12. Manage and adjust material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure optimal production flow.
13. Develop cost-effective procurement strategies to minimize supply chain expenses.
14. Work within budget constraints while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
15. Analyze pricing structures, negotiate favorable terms, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
16. Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., supplier issues, geopolitical disruptions) and develop mitigation strategies.
17. Stay informed about industry trends, commodity pricing fluctuations, and supply chain innovations
18. Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance to senior management.
19. Regularly communicates with Purchasing, Production and other internal/external customers and vendors to gather essential information.
20. Uses company ERP software to create Quotes, and Item Cards, Bill of Materials, and Routings
21. Creates, maintains, and continually reviews Item cards to ensure information is accurate and current
22. Keeps detailed records of source information, quotes from vendors, internal and external information
23. All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field
2. 5+ years of experience in procurement, buying, planning, or supply chain management,
3. 3 years’ experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing distribution environment
4. Strong background in demand forecasting, inventory management, and production planning.
5. Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
6. Proficiency in using production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 2 years in a senior or lead role.
2. APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
3. ISM CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
4. Six Sigma or Lean certifications.
5. Practitioner of Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)

Your Role:

The Metrology / Calibration Technician is responsible for managing all aspects of the calibration program at the Twin Cities Sites.  This includes helping other associates with gauging needs and requests.  Also maintaining the calibration records, documentation, and local work instructions to ensure compliance to Vantive and industry standards.  This position also includes the calibration of equipment.

What you'll be doing:

• Apply measurement science to manage calibration of measurement and test equipment in various areas: electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, etc., based on analysis of measurement considerations, desired metrological characteristics and applicable authoritative standards.

• Collaborate with R&D Engineers and Quality to establish calibration specifications.

• Represent the calibration program perspective for measurement and process.

• Coordinate internal stakeholders and external calibration provider to plan and schedule onsite and offsite calibrations.

• Responsible for ensuring the use of approved suppliers, obtaining quotes, and creating PO’s as necessary.

• Calibration of Metrology equipment.

• Coordinate calibration scheduling, equipment implementation to meet established schedules.

• Maintain and update the calibration management system with current equipment status, location, and ensuring equipment is in a state of control.

• Check out calibrated equipment to end users.

• Perform technical approval of supplier calibration certificates, reviewing data and confirming approved ranges are calibrated, and accuracy met, before returning to service.

• Initiate and track deviation reports for instrument changes and out of tolerance conditions.

• Assist with investigations as needed.

• Develop and maintain local Twin Cities sites calibration procedures.

• Participate as calibration SME in audits, providing process support and documentation. Responsible for routine data collection, metrological reliability analysis, and metrics reporting.

• Provide remote support to Global Metrology. Perform review of calibration work, supplier certificates, or validation documents.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent with 6+ years’ experience in a calibration related field.

• Knowledge of essential Metrology principles.

• Practicing knowledge of measurement science or equipment validation.

• Experience in an FDA regulated environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Evaluating and approving parts to ensure compliance with requirements

• Inspect, analyse, potentially rework, review, test and disposition components to ensure functionality

• Perform both design and project tasks related to the inspection, testing, and production support of implantable orthopedic devices and associated non-implantable delivery instruments

• Assist in research and development of new components, assemblies, and processes to support product development and continuation activities

• Perform dimensional, strength of materials, mechanism movement, and/or manufacturability analysis

• Generate test methods and protocols, perform tests, analyze data, generate reports for product verification, and present findings as needed to cross-functional stakeholders

• Perform various product engineering tasks as necessary to support R&D and operations

• Communicate updates to the program manager and other various cross-functional team members as it relates to task completion and schedule adherence relative to overall business goals and objectives

• Evaluate and solve technical challenges either individually or as part of a team by: collaborating cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions; actively participating in problem solving sessions and/or brainstorming; systemically and logically working through issues using personal skills/experience and/or pulling in resources as needed; and designing and conducting experimental testing to appropriately characterize and evaluate solutions

• Participate in engineering meetings, technical working groups, and project management discussions

• Assist in the building, prototyping, modifying, and testing of engineering components

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical, or technical equivalent) with 0-3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination

• Hands-on experience in metrology and familiarity with metrological equipment

• Experience in the use of analytical methods including statistics, DOE, and associated SW tools (Minitab)

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as a team

• Self-starter with proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision

• Desire to learn and meaningfully contribute to the team

Serve as a catalyst between sales, engineering and production (both internal and third party vendors). Ensuring timeliness and quality of new equipment builds, service requests and parts fulfillment. Pivotal in developing enhanced protocols to improve efficiency and quality.

• Lead all production operations across multiple locations —both in‑house and outsourced—ensuring projects, Highway builds, and complex custom work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Develop, coach, and manage a high‑performing operations team, shaping department structure, procedures, and workflows that support business objectives and continuous improvement.
• Set and execute short‑ and long‑range operational goals, policies, KPIs, and reporting that give leadership clear visibility into performance, profitability, and ROI.
• Oversee purchasing, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure cost‑effective sourcing, accurate fulfillment, and exceptional customer service.
• Champion a culture of safety, training, and employee development, coordinating ongoing learning programs and enhancing safety protocols across all production environments.
• Manage customer service escalations related to installations, parts, sales, and warranty claims while maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and third‑party builders.
• Evaluate and support facility needs, including satellite location oversight, expansion planning, and cost‑saving initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and inventory management.
• Provide financial ownership of Operations department by monitoring budgets, job costing and performance metrics to maximize profitability.

Requirements

• Business-related undergraduate degree highly preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience building, managing, and leading a team of direct reports, including implementation of operational improvements
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience within a dealer/distributor, trucking, or manufacturing environment preferred. Several years of operational oversight is required.
• Experience in a proven strategic capacity is a must
• Specific experience with NetSuite is a distinct plus
• Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) experience desired
• Ability to travel occasionally
