Role: Learning and Development Coordinator II

Location: Newport Beach CA/ Omaha NE

Duration: 06 Months

The Learning and Development Coordinator will support the end-to-end coordination of a key enterprise learning program. Maintaining training and user profile records; this role coordinates calendaring and enrollment, tracking, assessments, reporting and customer communications for virtual and in person learning events. Working as a conduit between the Pacific Life learning team and our external vendor they will serve as a subject matter expert in coordinating learning programs, maximizing the utilization of our learning system features to create and manage learning events, training modules, assessments, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate learning & development program logistics for Talent development programs, to include but not limited to Learning Management System (LMS) setup, calendar scheduling, ordering materials, assigning pre-work, recording attendance, sending evaluations, issuing certificates and other support needed to support the learning experience for participants in partnership with the Talent Development team.
• Raise issues with the senior learning team members that may impact the program of delivery in project meetings
• Manage first line queries from learners in a timely manner via shared mailboxes
• Maintain repository of learning & development document organization and structure in SharePoint Cloud or other collaboration sites as needed
• Work with the Cornerstone Administrative Lead to ensure that the system remains optimized for the roll out of the global programmes
• Support as required with other enterprise programs to cover periods of vacation in the team
• Produce consistent attendance and evaluation reports

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

You will lead end-to-end coordination and execution of major events across every market we operate in, ensuring every activation is strategically planned, operationally sound, fiscally responsible, and executed to brand standard.

This includes:

• Owning event planning from initial concept through post-event wrap-up
• Building comprehensive project timelines, execution plans, run-of-show documents, staffing schedules, and logistics trackers
• Leading communication and coordination across vendors, venues, production partners, setup teams, shipping partners, and internal stakeholders
• Negotiating contracts, pricing, and service agreements to secure the strongest possible value without compromising quality
• Managing all event logistics including travel, lodging, transportation, rentals, shipping, installation, onsite support, and breakdown
• Partnering closely with HR to ensure travel is booked well in advance, communicated clearly, and optimized for both efficiency and cost control
• Working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, operations, leadership, and field teams to ensure alignment and readiness across all moving parts
• Traveling to priority events to oversee setup, execution, troubleshooting, and teardown in person
• Maintaining disciplined oversight of budgets, timelines, deliverables, and event standards
• Anticipating issues before they arise and resolving challenges quickly, professionally, and without disruption
• Ensuring every event reflects a high level of operational excellence, brand consistency, and professionalism

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• 3+ years of event coordination or event management experience
• Direct cannabis industry experience
• Experience managing large-scale events, activations, trade shows, or multi-stakeholder brand experiences
• Proven success negotiating with vendors and securing strong commercial terms
• Strong project management capability with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly
• Excellent communication skills with confidence working across departments and with external partners
• Strong financial discipline and comfort managing budgets, logistics, and timelines
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership

In this leadership role, you will enhance the strategic direction of our experimentation methodology efforts. You will use simulations and reinforcement learning, ensuring consistency with business objectives, and supporting cross-functional teams in data-informed experimentation solutions. You will guide teams working at the intersection of large-scale foundation models, multi-agent systems, and RL-based optimization, encouraging a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

What you'll get to do...

• Define and drive the strategic roadmap for AI driven experimentation methodology, aligning initiatives with organizational goals and business impact
• Supervise and mentor teams of scientists and engineers, providing technical guidance and career development
• Promote meticulous experimentation, including the development of simulation environments and robust evaluation frameworks using machine learning and RL
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate research outcomes into scalable, production-ready experimentation solutions
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and cultivate a collaborative, innovative environment across the Applied ML team and broader organization

Your experience should include...

• 3+ years of professional experience managing and leading high-performing teams, including mentoring and coaching team member to achieve organizational goals
• 5+ years of professional experience in experimentation methodology, Reinforcement Learning, and software development 
• 2 + years of professional with experimentation platforms, data pipelines, and analytical tools to guide methodological rigor
• A deep understanding of statistical principles, causal inference, and experimental design for large-scale digital products
• A track record of partnering effectively with experimentation platform teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making
• 5+ years of professional experience translating complex statistical concepts into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
• The ability to define and implement a vision for experimentation best practices across diverse product areas

• Master's in computer science or equivalent quantitative fields
