Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is looking for you to join our Advanced Weapons Business Unit as a Sr. Staff Chief Engineer of the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) program. This position will report to the Advanced Weapons Business Unit Director of Engineering.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA.
This role will serve as the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (systems engineering/software/support/test) and lead a multi-disciplined team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements.
Typical Responsibilities Include:

Support program reviews as an engineering review authority, and assist in resolution of program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing)
Drive process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives
Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, test, and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Support assessment of cost and schedule impacts of technical decisions
Be the technical liaison to the program manager to ensure successful execution to project budgets and schedules.
Support the program manager in risk and opportunity management by identifying and owning risks associated with system performance.
Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements.
Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned.
Act as customer interface for all technical and execution matters related to SiAW Program activity.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Staff Chief Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with 14 years of experience, or 12 years with a master’s degree and 10 years of experience with a Ph.D.
Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information.
Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes
Experience leading design, production, and integration of complex systems
Background in aerospace systems; working knowledge of aircraft systems, missile systems, avionics, software systems, and their design drivers.
Candidate must have good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good oral and written presentation skills.
*Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager-Construction is a 2 year term and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day efforts related to construction, planning, design, and coordinating all aspects of small to large-sized projects related to the Hospital construction programs ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This position requires expertise in healthcare facility delivery, a rigorous command of compliance and regulatory standards, and a passion for leading multidisciplinary teams toward the successful completion of critical healthcare projects. To reach this objective, this role includes creating project objectives, work scope, management plans, overseeing planning, design and construction, managing budgets, schedules, developing and maintaining a relationship with the IOR, HCAi field staff and other agencies involved in the project and collaborating with various internal clients and professionals to ensure successful project delivery. The Manager- Construction Department will assign the Senior Project Manager, at his discretion, projects that match the level of experience of the Senior Project Manager to ensure the greatest success outcome of the project. - The Senior Project Manager will direct, manage and schedule outsourced architectural & engineering firms, general contractors, and other project vendors - allocated to the project and will serve as an adviser and provide resources to the project to resolve technical or operational projects. three engineering verticals, BASIS, Integration, and Cloud/Platform, and is responsible
for driving operational excellence, system reliability, and cross-domain alignment.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in understanding the interdependence
and operational nuances across these areas, ensuring seamless coordination and
optimized performance. They will bring a modern mindset, a strong leadership

This role collaborates closely with engineering leads, TPMs, and the Technical
Documentation Specialist to ensure environments are well-documented, compliant, and
scalable. Additionally, the Sr. Manager will represent Enterprise Technology across
Operations & Technology, fostering strong cross-functional relationships, managing
vendor coordination, overseeing environment governance, and delivering insightful
operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
• Establish and lead cross-functional operational initiatives across Platform,
BASIS, and Integration, while managing a team of contractors and service
providers.
• Anticipate and optimize resource needs, including identifying performance
gaps, staffing requirements, and opportunities for efficiency.
• Develop and maintain environment management standards, including
release controls, patches, and transport processes.
• Ensure timely application of system patches, including security updates, to
maintain platform stability, compliance, and protection against
vulnerabilities.
• Oversee high availability and performance of systems through proactive
monitoring and incident response coordination.
Program & Process Management
• Establish new operational processes and standards to support the needs
of a newly formed company, including designing, implementing, and
evolving workflows that enable scalable, efficient, and resilient operations.
• Build with agility and adaptability in mind, enabling the organization to
respond effectively to evolving business priorities and strategic growth
opportunities.
• Partner with TPMs and PMO to align operational activities with project
timelines and business priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement in operational workflows, including
automation and tooling enhancements.
• Support Day 1 readiness and post-launch stabilization efforts.
Governance & Compliance
• Collaborate with the BASIS Security Engineer to ensure compliance with
SOX, GDPR, and internal controls.
• Own the organization and upkeep of operational documentation, ensuring
it is created when needed, logically structured, consistently maintained,
and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Track and report on operational KPIs, technical debt, and modernization
opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as a liaison between Platform, BASIS, and Integration teams to ensure
seamless coordination.
• Engage with vendors and service providers to manage SLAs and
operational dependencies.
• Support executive reporting and decision-making through clear summaries
and operational insights.
Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations, preferably in SAP or
ERP environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, foster collaboration across
diverse teams, and communicate technical concepts with clarity and
influence.
• Experience navigating change and ambiguity in transformation
environments, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional
development.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure, integration, and platform
operations.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex
technical programs.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR) and operational
governance.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; experience with
Confluence, Jira, and visualization tools.

Position Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Plant Director will lead high-impact operational improvement initiatives across manufacturing. This role goes beyond analysis — you will implement solutions, train teams, standardize processes, and ensure improvements are sustained. High visibility role working cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain, with direct visibility to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks (quality escapes, rework, prep time, inefficient assembly, material flow issues, etc.)
- Lead Lean and Six Sigma (DMAIC) projects delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, and cycle time
- Drive root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Convert tribal knowledge into Standard Work, SOPs, and clear work instructions and help move the operation toward a paperless, analytics-driven environment
- Support development of scalable, repeatable processes
- Develop and track KPIs (scrap, rework, downtime, OTD, cycle time)
- Analyze shop floor data and present actionable insights to leadership
- Measure and report savings in dollars, hours reduced, and risk mitigation
- Support ERP improvements, system integrations and implement visual management tools and structured shop floor controls
- Implement digital tools (Power BI, Excel, Power Automate, digital checklists)
- Deliver hands-on Lean/CI training to operators, leads, and supervisors
- Lead Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and cross-functional improvement workshops
- Reinforce accountability and continuous improvement mindset at all levels
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering or continuous improvement experience
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5S, VSM, SMED, Poka-Yoke, Visual Management) and Six Sigma (DMAIC, root cause analysis)
- Experience developing standard work, driving real improvements, measurable cost savings, cycle time reductions and shop floor digital tools
- Bilingual English/Spanish Required

A leading Space and Defense manufacturer in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Operations to lead a technically complex production environment specializing in large, lightweight metallic structures and assemblies serving aerospace, missile, and hypersonic markets.
This facility focuses on metallic forming, precision forming, advanced spin forming, CNC machining, fabrication, and assembly integration. The Director of Operations will own full site-level operational performance and P&L accountability, driving production discipline across multi-step manufacturing routings involving machining, forming, welding coordination, heat treat, finishing, and final assembly.
This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role for an operator who understands large-part CNC machining, tight-tolerance metallic components (aluminum highly desired), and the execution rigor required to scale throughput while improving margin performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all production operations across CNC machining, metallic forming, spin forming, fabrication, finishing, and assembly.
- Establish structured daily production management cadence to improve schedule adherence, throughput, and flow.
- Drive performance across large gantry milling, 3-axis and 5-axis machining environments.
- Optimize complex manufacturing routings spanning machining, deburring, forming, welding coordination, heat treat, and integration.
- Own site-level P&L performance, improving labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and cost control.
- Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing systems including 5S, SMED, TPM, and OEE-based performance management.
- Improve spindle utilization, setup reduction, preventative maintenance discipline, and machining efficiency.

Required
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace or advanced CNC manufacturing environments.
- 5+ years leading a machining-intensive manufacturing operation with full production accountability.
- Experience producing large, tight-tolerance metallic components (aluminum strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated oversight of 3-axis, 5-axis, and large gantry milling environments.
- Proven P&L ownership within a manufacturing facility.
- Experience managing complex multi-step production flows and downstream processes.
