We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing engineering and CNC programming operations within a high-precision aerospace production environment.

Why This Role Stands Out: High-impact leadership role with direct influence on manufacturing execution Opportunity to work on mission-critical aerospace components Collaborative cross-functional environment Blend of strategic oversight and hands-on technical involvement Strong visibility across operations, quality, and executive leadership Job Details What You’ll Do: Hands-On Technical Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing/process engineers and CNC programmers Act as a true player-coach — providing direct support on the production floor Establish engineering priorities and ensure alignment with production schedules Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, work instructions, routings, and process documentation Aerospace Manufacturing Expertise: Provide engineering support for precision-machined aerospace components Apply deep knowledge of thread standards, torque/tension relationships, preload, coatings, and heat treatment Interpret and implement aerospace customer specifications and industry standards Review and approve manufacturing drawings, routings, and specifications CNC & Process Optimization: Support daily production troubleshooting and nonconformance resolution Oversee CNC programming for turning, milling, threading, and secondary operations Optimize tooling, setups, fixtures, and machining strategies for throughput and repeatability Support New Product Introduction (NPI), First Article Inspection (FAI), and process validation Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA regulations, and aerospace customer requirements Support audits and regulatory inspections Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives Approve engineering changes related to manufacturing processes Continuous Improvement: Drive scrap reduction, cycle time improvements, and cost control initiatives Standardize machining, inspection, heat treatment, and finishing processes Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma efforts What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field 5+ years of hands-on aerospace manufacturing engineering experience 2+ years of engineering leadership experience Strong CNC machining knowledge Experience in AS9100-certified environments Deep understanding of aerospace materials, threads, GD&T, and inspection standards Preferred: Experience with FAA-regulated products OEM or Tier 1 aerospace customer exposure Lean or Six Sigma background Additional Information: Combination office and manufacturing floor environment Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Details What You’ll Be Doing: Develop and improve manufacturing processes for precision aerospace components, including cold heading, machining, thread rolling, heat treatment, finishing, and assembly Create and maintain SolidWorks 3D models and detailed 2D drawings to support tooling, fixtures, gauges, layouts, and production equipment Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and ensure drawings meet aerospace standards and customer specifications Optimize workflow, space utilization, equipment layout, and workforce efficiency to improve throughput and reduce waste Provide hands-on technical support to resolve process, tooling, and equipment issues on the production floor Lead and support new product introductions, ensuring manufacturing readiness and operator training Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, cost control, quality enhancement, and machine productivity Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including BOMs, routings, MOMs, standard work, cycle times, and capacity data Support aerospace compliance activities including First Article Inspections (AS9102), fixed process approvals, and corrective actions Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Planning, and Manufacturing teams What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field 2+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience Strong SolidWorks proficiency (3D modeling, assemblies, 2D production drawings) Experience applying GD&T and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting and root cause skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach Preferred Experience: Aerospace structural component manufacturing experience (fasteners, precision hardware, etc.) Experience designing production tooling, fixtures, and inspection aids Knowledge of cold heading, CNC machining, thread rolling, heat treatment, plating, or NDT Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 standards Experience in regulated, high-mix manufacturing environments Additional Requirements: This position is subject to ITAR regulations and requires U.S.
