Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening in Southeast Alabama

Hospital is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in an employed arrangement.

The CV surgery program is supported by four very well respected and busy full-time cardiologists, two of whom are interventional. Hospital has four rooms in its busy cath lab as well as full cardiology diagnostics and rehab programs. The program can produce upward of over 150 CV surgeries per year. Hospital has a large catchment area of over 300,000 people with a high incidence of cardiac illness and comorbidities. The CV program currently has a full-time nurse practitioner/RNFA and is supported by 24/7 perfusion coverage. A highly skilled OR team is available that routinely performs complex heart and vascular cases. We recently purchased new heart and perfusion equipment, so we have best-in-class capabilities. Dedicated operating room block time is scheduled for the specialty. The surgeon would have ample office space co-located with other surgeons in a physician office building attached to the hospital. The anesthesiology program is very strong, with physicians who live and work in the community and have deep CV surgery experience. An MDA or CRNA is available 24/7 in-house.

The structure of the program is one full-time CV surgeon and one full-time nurse practitioner. The surgeon would be required to be on-call the propensity of the month with periodic locum tenenes support for time-off and holidays. The surgeon must live in the area for rapid response in emergent cases.

Health System is interested in a BC/BE psychiatrist for a mix of outpatient and inpatient work. The mix would be roughly half day inpatient. Hospital is looking to hire a non-operative sports medicine fellowship physician for our well-established practice located in Northeast Nebraska. This physician's role would continue to grow the practice of non-operative sports medicine focused orthopedic practice and contribute towards current and future athletic partnerships within the area. Our orthopedic team consists of three physicians, one podiatrist and a full team of skilled advanced practice providers. The position will evaluate, diagnose and treat patients presenting with a wide variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal illness and injury, including limb and back pain and reduced mobility and function.

Eligible physician will be BE/BC in sports medicine. Position requires MD/DO, Residency in IM, EM, FM, Peds, and Neuromusculoskeletal or rehab medicine with a fellowship in sports medicine.

Hospital provides athletic training (nine athletic trainers) services to several schools (12 high schools and 1 community college) in and around the city. The growing team of athletic trainers has a long history of providing quality health care for area athletes. The experienced and professional staff of full-time, certified athletic trainers can meet the needs of area athletes and their families. Their goal is to keep athletes safe and ready for competition in the most efficient manner possible.

In October 2021, the hospital broke ground on its new 260,000 square foot, $55M fieldhouse. The fieldhouse is an extension of the hospital's mission to enhance community wellness. It will offer indoor and outdoor fitness and recreation areas, including tennis courts, a football field, a soccer field, basketball courts, batting cages, youth activities spaces, a suspended track for walking and running and more.
