R&D Scientist II – Materials / Polymer Focus (Lab-Based) - 626501

Overview
We are seeking a junior-level R&D Scientist II to join a Specimen Management R&D team, supporting the development of blood collection devices (e.g., tubes, needles, plastic components).
This role is highly lab-focused (≈50%+ hands-on testing) and ideal for candidates with a background in materials science, polymer chemistry, or chemical engineering who enjoy bench work and experimental testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct material characterization and testing, including:
- FTIR, DSC, TGA, rheology, and mechanical testing
- Environmental Stress Cracking (ESC) and Thermal Cycle Analysis (TCA)
- Design and execute lab experiments and test protocols
- Perform root cause investigations related to material and product failures
- Support material selection, qualification, and vendor/material changes
- Prepare samples and prototypes for internal and external testing
- Document results and provide data-driven recommendations
- Assist with small-scale material assessments and innovation efforts
- Maintain lab equipment and follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Required Qualifications

- The Product Designer, OTT will play a critical role in shaping how audiences experience live and on-demand content across the client and connected-TV platforms. Technical Leadership & Training
- Serve as the go-to technical resource for Level B and Level C technicians; provide on-the-job training, coaching, and quality checks.

- Company maintenance standards, PM strategies, and repair procedures.
Fleet Reliability, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze repeat repairs, failure trends, and PM findings; recommend changes to PM intervals, inspection checklists, or parts specifications.
- Ensure all work complies with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, BIC, DEP and environmental regulations, as well as state/local requirements in NY, NYC, NJ, and CT.
- Perform and sign off on the most critical inspections (e.g., PDI, PM and Annual inspections, accident damage assessments, major repair QC).
Operational & Customer Support
- Support complex road calls and on-site repairs on the road, at transfer stations, MRFs, or customer locations throughout the NYC tri-state area.
- Partner with Operations and Dispatch to minimize downtime, sequence repairs effectively, and prioritize critical units i.e. NYC dense-route refuse units, specialized collection assets.
- Provide clear feedback to leadership on equipment condition, replacement candidates, and chronic issues affecting uptime or safety.
Administrative & Leadership Duties (as assigned)
- Help plan daily shop workload and allocate jobs according to technician skill level.
- Assist in specifying parts, evaluating vendor options, and supporting warranty recovery efforts.
- Support audits, safety inspections, and external regulatory reviews as the technical representative for the shop.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic as a diesel/heavy-equipment mechanic/technician, including advanced diagnostics and major component overhaul.
- CDL Class B or A with air brake endorsement required or strongly preferred due to frequent road tests and movement of collection vehicles on public roads.
- Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of:
- Heavy truck and refuse systems.
- Refuse hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
- Diagnostic software, scan tools, and OEM service information.
- Proven track record of performing complex diagnostics and repairs independently.
- Must provide own professional-grade tools required for diagnostic and repair work.
- ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician or equivalent combination of ASE certifications (T series) and/or OEM advanced certifications preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
- Experience in a lead or senior technician role in a refuse, municipal, or large private fleet environment preferred.
- Experience with CNG/LNG, hybrid, or EV drivetrains for heavy vehicles preferred.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Product Manager, Membership is responsible for specific user journeys in the membership flow (e.g. registration, subscription purchase, renewal, cancellation).
You’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Engineering, Design, Growth, and Customer Experience teams to optimize key lifecycle flows. You’ll partner with brand product teams to ship improvements quickly while building requirements and measurement designed to be reusable across brands.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work cross-functionally to establish and optimize registration and subscription capabilities across brands
• Partner with engineering to ensure seamless integrations and user flows across our identity stack and product experiences
• Synthesize user needs, business goals, and data insights into clear product requirements
• Use experimentation, analytics, and qualitative feedback to inform decisions
• Write clear PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Build and maintain a prioritized backlog of feature requests and enhancements
• Partner with vendors to advocate for bug fixes and feature improvements and ensure timely delivery
• Help define success metrics focused on conversion and churn reduction
• Communicate tradeoffs and progress to cross-functional stakeholders

Job Overview
To support CS Manufacturing and support the manufacturing engineering department.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations. This includes QSR and ISO Standards.
- Participates in Material Review Boards (MRB) Decision process.
- Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
- Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventative and calibration maintenance as necessary.
- Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
- Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. May develop or revise documents and procedures.
- Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processes.
- Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools, and fixtures.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree in Engineering, Science or related technical field is preferred.
- One to three years of technician experience in a manufacturing environment is required; Experience working in medical device manufacturing or other FDA regulated industry would be ideal.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be well organized and demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities. Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to take initiative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel or equivalent software applications is preferred.
The compensation range for this position is between $26-$31 per hour depending on experience and location.
