OUR UNIT:
4300 is a 20 bed, medical surgical unit with the additional specialty of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD). This unit cares for general medical patients with varying conditions and any patient who requires peritoneal dialysis (PD) during their hospital admission. All RN & LPNs are required to become PD competent through our hospital training course. RRH reimburses or pays for this competency for our nurses.
Nursing staff are responsible for assessing patients, passing medications, and following provider orders for patient specific tasks. 4300 is a wonderful unit to start or continue your nursing career as you will see a variety of medical conditions, treatment plans, and nursing skills. We provide multidisciplinary support with daily care team rounding and geographically assigned teams.

- Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals.
- Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation.
- Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
- Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States.
Compliance - Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.
- Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

2600 is a stroke certified, telemetry medical surgical unit. This is a 27 bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment.
We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients, and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work. Prior to training and serving in the virtual nurse role, we require 6 months of experience working on the unit.

Cardiovascular Unit – 2100
The Cardiovascular Unit is an 18 bed cardiac nursing unit that includes telemetry, wound care, vascular, and cardiac specialty patients. This unit also has a mix of medical and surgical patients.
Our team of seasoned and experienced nurses provides mentorship and support to new staff, working together to drive critical thinking through complex medical situations. Many of our nurses start with us and transfer to higher acuity areas, feeling confident they have gained a solid foundation.
