Department Description: Our High Technology Nursing program provides skilled, compassionate in-home nursing for patients who require around-the-clock care and advanced medical technology. Our nurses rotate through care, so you will never be required to work longer than your schedule 8, 10, or 12 hour shift.

What You’ll Do

Unit Description: Inpatient Rehabilitation nursing is a different type of nursing. We are primarily coaching and educating our patients as we care for their medical needs. We strive to help our patient’s transition back home by helping to guide, coach and direct them to become independent in their activities of daily living. We work very closely with PTs and OTs and MD’s and we help our patients carry out their treatments. If you like to develop relationships with your patients and their families, and you have patience and good people skills, inpatient rehabilitation may be the right kind of nursing for you. We are a 35-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit located at the Fanny Allen Campus where Fletcher Allen’s Rehabilitation Center is based. We provide team-based care, working closely with PTs, OTs, SLPs, Recreational Therapists, MD’s and Medical Psychologists. We have a wide range of patients, including brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and multi-traumas or illness that requires a more intensive Rehabilitation for patients. Our average length of stay is 13 days, but our range is 5 to 90 days. Around 95% of our patients return home with a small present needing to go to a SAR (Suba acute Rehabilitation) or to a long-term care facility.

Unit Description: THIS POSITION IS PER DIEM AND DOES NOT HAVE SET SCHEDULED HOURS. Our home dialysis training site supports Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis modalities. The home program staff provides dialysis training and can discuss dialysis options, schedule consults, and answer questions concerning home dialysis treatment or supplies. Unit Description: As a Resource RN, you will care for a mixed population of patients across the UVM Medical Center. Our team is comprised of RNs and LNAs who float between different units to help cover inpatient staffing needs. As a department, we support up to 20 different units ranging from Medical-Surgical, Cardiology/Telemetry, Critical Care, to Maternal Child. You’ll find yourself using your broad range of skills and depth of experience on a variety of inpatient units.

You’ll work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide patients with the highest quality care. Our leadership team provides training and support to ensure that you have the tools and knowledge that you need to thrive in this one-of-a-kind unit. A can-do attitude, flexibility, a love of change, independence, and excellent communication skills are needed to be successful in our department.

A minimum of 2 years of direct critical care experience is required.

Unit Description: As a nurse in our 32-bed surgical telemetry unit, you will be focused on providing high quality, patient and family centered care. Our primary population includes patients who require cardiothoracic surgery (post-CABG, valve replacement, pulmonary surgery), vascular surgery (lower limb bypass, carotid endarterectomy, amputation), and urology (prostatectomy, bladder tumor resection, continuous bladder irrigation). Unit Description: Inpatient Pediatrics at UVMMC is a 17-bed unit serving patients aged day 1 to 18 years and covers 24 specialties. It is the only inpatient pediatric unit in the state of Vermont and upstate New York, is part of the Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Vermont Medical Center, and partners with the Children's Miracle Network.

Unit Description: Provides procedure tests with various modalities of stress tests and assists MD with moderate sedation for Trans esophageal echoes.

Collaborates with a team of card tech’s, cardiology fellows, sonographers and physicians to provide the right test for the right patient. Critical care, emergency department or Cardiology background minimum of 3–5-year experience required. EKG tele, ACLS & IV skills required (will train if needed). Must be able to read EKG tele strips as baseline. RQI acceptable.

On-call: None. Primary Shift: 6:30 am- 4:00 pm (9-hour days) This is a per diem role.

Unit Description: Shep 3 North currently has around 10 long-term care patients that are awaiting placement. Patients on this unit will have a variety of different diagnoses. The environment of the unit is consistent with that of a long-term care facility. Candidates must have strong communication and leadership skills. Charge nurse experience preferred. Long term care experience preferred.
