We are seeking a Maintenance Reliability Manager for our First Quality Retail Services facility located in Lewistown, PA.
This position will be responsible for the developing & directing technical support teams including Operations and Line Maintenance/Preventative Maintenance, Parts Room and Facilities to achieve production goals. Works with Process Engineering, Production, Planning, Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Project Engineering to provide efficiency, scrap, speed, and reliability improvements; new products and product improvements; and manufacturing cost & quality improvements.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Ensures safe work practices are being followed and violations are corrected immediately.
- Works closely with Production Management, Process Engineering, Planning in addition to directing resources to meet daily production requirements, scheduled PM and Changeovers, and special projects.
- Provides hands on results focused leadership and coaching for the Maintenance, Facilities, Parts Room and Controls Engineering teams.
- Leads hiring, personnel assessments, and personnel development for assigned areas.
- Determines and manages departmental improvement plans to meet both short and long term needs. Reallocates resources and adjusts plans as needs change.
- Provides results focused oversight of Storeroom operation, overseeing initial parts stocking recommendations for new equipment and parts inventory cost management.
- Provides leadership in developing and implementing changes for improved Overall Equipment Reliability including equipment changes, auditing programs, technical training, and start up support for new equipment.
- Insures OSHA, DEP, and company procedural compliance in process group’s activities.
- Provides and manages expense budgetary planning, reporting, and oversight for assigned area as needed.
- Provides clear goals and focused performance measures for individuals and department. Develops direct reports using an effective coaching style. Develops informal peer relationships with shared results and performance improvement efforts.
- Instills sense of urgency with direct subordinates to provide focused actions.
- Works effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, and outside OEM’s, to constructively define problems and provide effective solutions.
- Applies necessary internal and external resources to quickly troubleshoot and solve technical problems.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for our First Quality Retail Services facilitylocated in Lewistown, PA.
This position will be responsible for the creation, implementation and monitoring of all corporate & site Quality practices within their site of operation. Leading a team of quality professionals and driving a culture of continual improvement. Play a pivotal role and work collaboratively within the site management team, and drive quality engagement through all levels of the organization.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and planning to develop, implement and maintain quality systems to ensure compliance to regulatory, industry, and customer standards.
- Serves as the Management Representative for all site compliance and quality systems
- Supervises the activities of assigned staff and monitor the activities of QA/QC personnel within the QA Department.
- Assure that all resources utilized for the quality functions are procured, maintained, and perpetuated in a cost effective and timely manner within the goals of the strategic business plan.
- Take the leadership role in maintaining/changing the quality culture of the company – serve as the visible model of Quality. Educate team members in the quality philosophy and practices, including improvement strategies.
- Represents the company to vendors, customers, and appropriate regulatory officials in matters related to quality.
- Administers the quality audit program.
- Provides training to team members, as required, for implementing quality initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize key site projects and determine appropriate resources and timing; integrate lean six sigma activities with quality system activities such as Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) and Quality Improvements to assure effectiveness and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Develops annual quality plans and recommendations for continual improvement in conjunction with the Quality Leader and Operations Manager
- Determines methods and implements plans for professional development of personnel within the QA Department.
- Proposes budgets and monitors budget activity for the QA Department.
- Provides statistical analysis for evaluation of processes, and issue KPI reports to site leadership and divisional leaders at determined frequencies.
- Conducts lab tours and explains quality system to visitors.
- Understands competitive product features in comparison to products.
- Completes required reports and summaries for regulatory & industry agencies.
- Assists and substitutes for the Divisional Quality Leader, as needed.
- Observes all safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Business, or Science discipline.
- Three years minimum experience as a Quality Manager, Technical Manager, or QC Supervisor in a manufacturing environment (preferably FDA-regulated environment).
- Six sigma Green Belt certified, preferred.
- Supervisory experience.

We are seeking a Product Development Manager - Absorbent Hygiene for our First Quality Retail Services located in Lewistown, PA.
This position is responsible for the product development related to the absorbent hygiene products industry. Preferably in adult incontinence hygiene products.
This person will be responsible for developing and introducing new products and modifies existing products to meet customer needs. Collaborates with Business Unit to identify customer needs and interacts with Operations (Process Engineers, Production Planning, Project Engineers and Quality Assurance) and Marketing to implement new products in a timely manner. Must maintain an up-to-date information base on relevant new product developments (i.e. via commercial, professional, professional contacts & patent literature) and represents First Quality on professional technical committees.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Leads a cross-functional team to plan, develop, and implement product improvements and new product introductions from Operations through to the Marketplace.
- Investigates new technologies (materials & equipment) and their applicability to absorbent products.
- Works with Marketing to plan, conduct, analyze, and interpret consumer/market research studies.
- Plans, conducts, analyzes, and interprets product use tests to benchmark competitive product performance.
- Works with Patent/Trademark attorney on intellectual property considerations (patentability, infringement searches, right-to-market reviews, etc.)

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science; MS preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of product development related absorbent hygiene products industry experience preferred, preferably in adult incontinence hygiene products.
- Knowledge of absorbent hygiene markets, products, competition, consumers, trends, etc.
- Knowledge and use of Probability and Statistical Inference.
- Knowledge and use of Design of Experiments.
- Knowledge and use of Patents/Trademarks, especially with regards to absorbent products and materials
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to develop and organize multiple projects.
- Ability to manage and lead a diverse, cross-functional team of professionals to deliver against key objectives and timelines.

We are seeking a Product Development Scientist for our First Quality Retail Services facility located in Lewistown, PA.
The position is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing new and proprietary designs of absorbent-related product systems based upon business, customer, and consumer needs as well as provide support for the needs of present product systems to assure competitive performance and value.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate as a member of the Product Development team; execute projects in timely, diligent, safe, and professional manner, and contribute to the growth of the team and department.
- Design new products and product improvements to meet business and consumer needs.
- Develop new and improved materials and technologies with suppliers, and ensure all new raw materials obtain proper safety testing and clearance.
- Use basic Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques to develop experimental plans.
- Support the existing business product cost improvements through product redesigns.
- Provide technical support to reduce consumer complaints.
- Support corporate proprietary technology by documenting and patenting novel ideas.
- Develop new test methods to better predict and understand product performance in use.

Education and experience requirements include:
- Able to travel ~20-30% to US and International for product and process trials.
- Four-year technical degree (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent; additional business studies preferred.
- 3+ years in R&D inventing, developing and implementing new products.
- Knowledge of and experience with developing product systems for the retail market, preferably hygiene products
- Knowledge of materials used in retail absorbent products (e.g. pulp, super absorbent polymers, nonwovens).
- Working knowledge of consumer product converting technologies for pulp, paper and nonwoven materials.
- Experience with the process of searching, evaluating and filing patents.
- Experience providing direction for the physical testing of hypotheses, resulting in specific conclusions and recommendations.
- Able to speak, read and write the English language and have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills, with working knowledge of basic statistics.
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office program.

We are seeking an Associate Product Development Scientist for our First Quality Products site located in Lewistown, PA.
This position is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing new and proprietary designs of absorbent-related product systems based upon business, customer, and consumer needs as well as provide support for the needs of present product systems to assure competitive performance and value.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Participate as a member of the Product Development team; execute projects in timely, diligent, safe, and professional manner, and contribute to the growth of the team and department.
- Design new products and product improvements to meet business and consumer needs.
- Develop new and improved materials and technologies with suppliers, and ensure all new raw materials obtain proper safety testing and clearance.
- Use basic Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques to develop experimental plans.
- Support the existing business product cost improvements through product redesigns.
- Provide technical support to reduce consumer complaints.
- Support corporate proprietary technology by documenting and patenting novel ideas.
- Develop new test methods to better predict and understand product performance in use.
- Work with more senior scientist or manager to help set project objectives.
- Coach and develop indirect reports to enhance team performance towards department objectives.
Education and experience requirements:
- Able to travel ~20-30% to US and International for product and process trials.
- Four-year technical degree (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering) or equivalent; additional business studies preferred.
- 3+ years in R&D inventing, developing, and implementing new products.
- Knowledge of and experience with developing product systems for the retail market, preferably hygiene products.
- Knowledge of materials used in retail absorbent products (e.g. pulp, super absorbent polymers, nonwovens).
- Working knowledge of consumer product converting technologies for pulp, paper, and nonwoven materials.
- Experience with the process of searching, evaluating, and filing patents.
- Experience providing direction for the physical testing of hypotheses, resulting in specific conclusions and recommendations.
- Able to speak, read and write the English language and have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills, with working knowledge of basic statistics.
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office program.

MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students’ academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing daily supervision and mentorship
- Managing household routines and student schedules
- Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
- Driving students to activities, as well as planning and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
- Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.
