Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing various electrical project designs including creating electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design.

- Assist with analysing reports, drawings, and tests, to plan and design projects.
- Apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Complete and review design drawings within scope, budget and schedule.
- Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.
- Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical design and layouts.
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills: AutoCAD, Electrical Design e.g. Transmission or Distribution or Substation or Pole Design or Protection & Control Design.
- Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and min 2 years related experience Required or Associate Degree and min 3 years related experience Required or High School and min 4 years progressive detailing and design experience is Required.
- Strong understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
- Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
- Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.

The Schedule Development Manager will provide high-quality project schedules that exceed industry standards. - Experience managing Submittals & Commitments is required along with the associated schedules

- Valid state-issued driver's license and good driving record.
- Availability for minimal travel on a monthly basis

Position Overview:
The Senior Automation Engineer supports the Cary, N.C., office with expertise in Rockwell or Allen Bradley systems. This role is responsible for the development, programming, and testing of PLC systems integrated with HMI and SCADA. This individual will also play a key role in on-site installations and commissioning, requiring local travel to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment. Experience with PlantPAx would be beneficial; experience with Siemens or DeltaV is a huge plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop instrument lists (IO list), loop sheets, motor elementaries, and VFD diagrams for various control systems.
- Collaborate with clients to design and develop PLC systems that include HMI and SCADA, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
- Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems to guarantee optimal performance during installation and commissioning phases.
- Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance staff to ensure they are proficient in operating and maintaining the systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for the software development life cycle (SDLC), including PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs, user manuals, and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering or equivalent.
- Professional license (e.g., PE) not required; working toward PE/EIT a plus.
- Proven track record with 5–10 years of expertise in the Rockwell PLC systems. Candidates must demonstrate mastery in developing complex PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions from the ground up.
- Expertise in Siemens (TIA Portal/S7) is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Ladder Logic and Function Block Diagrams.
- Ability to develop programs based on customer-provided documents, such as FRS and SDS.
- Expert knowledge of Rockwell Automation Software Suite, including Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, and FactoryTalk View SE.
- Knowledge and implementation experience with industrial communication protocols – Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet/IP, Profibus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
