Project Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

As a full time, paid Project Engineering Intern at Gits Manufacturing, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Engineering team to assist in project and design work.
- Creates &/or modifies product designs & drawings using CAD tools, product data management systems, and risk analysis tools.
- Verifies designs through engineering calculations, modeling, and/or simulations such as CFD and FEA.
- Assist in engineering tool creation and process mapping.
- Assist in technical problem solving.
Requirements
- A student of Junior or Senior academic standing, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

What You'll Do: As an Applications Engineer, you will oversee the software development life cycle, including analysis, technical requirements, design, coding, unit testing, implementation, and maintenance of application software.
Additional responsibilities will include: Provide technical leadership for projects and initiatives, including acting as IT Lead in project proposals, justification, design, development, testing and delivery phases.
Perform engineering functions at many levels from developing strategic artifacts to direct contributions to critical projects across the organization.
Participate in governance activities associated with ensuring compliance with established principles, security standards, patterns, assumptions and strategies, and the integrity of components.
Serve as the key liaison between technical and business areas to analyze and resolve complex business problems.
Analyze financial services industry and technology trends to determine potential impacts to our business and proactively partner with application and infrastructure teams to create roadmaps which consider near term and long-term health of systems and technical currency.
Recommend technology direction and/or adjustments to incorporate in business plans.
Coach IT staff on technology, processes, and career development.
What It Takes to Join Our Team: College degree or equivalent plus seven years of relevant experience required.
Four years of experience in insurance industry processing preferred.
Experience with .NET, JAVA and in multiple data integration patterns (messaging, web services, etc.), SDLC, API integrations and, cloud platforms (Azure).
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be results oriented, and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
Customer focused mindset with strong analytical, problem solving, and system design skills sets.
Mature interpersonal skills that foster the ability to work well with others and understand the importance of negotiation and compromise.
Ability to understand insurance systems and the data sources behind them.
Strong communication skills both oral and written in both technical and non-technical settings.

The Program Manager (PM) is a delivery leader responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of a data center infrastructure services on behalf of IG Consulting. - Support client-facing reporting by providing accurate, timely inputs on assigned workstreams
- Assist in preparing materials for governance forums, QBRs, and delivery reviews as directed
5. Team & Crew Support
- Coordinate with field supervisors and site leads to ensure crews are properly resourced and briefed for each work activity
- Support onboarding of new crew members to assigned programs, including site orientation and documentation review
- Reinforce a safety-first culture: ensure crew compliance with client EHS requirements, data center access protocols, and IG Consulting safety policies
- Escalate crew performance concerns, capacity gaps, or safety issues to the Sr. PM promptly
Qualifications Required:
- 2+ years of program or project coordination experience in data center, infrastructure, or technology deployment environments
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and coordinate across field teams in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with MOP/SOP-driven execution environments and the importance of procedural compliance in live data center settings
- Strong organizational and communication skills — comfortable coordinating with crews, supervisors, and internal leadership
- Proficiency with program tracking tools: Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent
- Familiarity with data center EHS requirements and safe work practices
Preferred:
- Experience supporting service delivery in hyperscaler data center environments (Microsoft, AWS, Google, Meta)
- Working familiarity with data center infrastructure service areas: compute rack deployments, network buildouts, structured cabling, and break/fix operations
- Experience coordinating field crews in live, access-controlled data center environments
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent certification a plus

Develop new and maintain existing applications of high complexity as per specifications including developing application code, testing completed applications, and develop required documentation as defined by company development standards.
Maintain strict adherence to standards for documentation, development techniques, testing, and other related development activity.
Conduct research and maintain high level of knowledge in systems software/hardware to ensure operations and implementations are of the highest quality.
Assist the business with process improvements where needed.
Keep Application Development Manager, Project Manager, and team members informed on status of deliverables.
Provide twenty-four hour support for computer operation of production systems as needed.
Assist in determining the causes of system problems by conferring with technical, business unit and system personnel.
Give guidance and direction, as needed, to development staff and Consultants on technical matters.
Create functional design of principle system components and formulate system scope, objectives, functional requirements and deliverables.
Design complex technology configurations to satisfy business requirements and create, execute and maintain project plans for complex systems.
Participate in the integration of new systems and recommend new technology.
Manage day to day operations and administration of applicable production applications.
Participate in regular meetings to keep both the business and IT staff informed of productivity objectives, goals and concerns.
Communicate with developers on the problem resolution process and provide information pertaining to the system.
Verify application logic by preparing test data and test plans, test and debug system applications, verifying test results and by providing guidance to others.
Direct or perform systems-related special projects as requested.
What It Takes to Join Our Team: College degree or equivalent plus five years relevant experience required; or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or MIS plus three years relevant experience required.
Three years' experience in insurance or finance data processing preferred.
Knowledge of data handling methods, development techniques and one or more development programming languages.
Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.
Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
