The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering () at the Georgia Institute of Technology (CEEatGT) invites applications from exceptional senior candidates working in the areas of environmental technologies and sustainability, broadly defined. The successful candidate will be named Hightower Chair and Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar, an endowed position. GRA eminent scholars are expected to engage in translational and/or economic development efforts in their field. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Appointment is expected at the rank of full professor with tenure.

The school seeks a visionary scholar-educator and proven leader in high impact and emerging areas of importance to society, sustainability and the environment. A non-exhaustive list of related topics in the School's current research portfolio include smart cities, sustainable systems, healthy communities, resilient infrastructure systems, global warming, disaster management, renewable energy, ecosystem services, and water-energy-food-environment nexus. Along with excellent scholarship, candidates are expected to have demonstrated strong leadership in building and leading extramurally funded research programs, noteworthy dedication to innovative teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate student bodies, as well as national and international recognition. Department Information
The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of todays technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

With approximately 3,000 students, 100 faculty members, and 80 staff members, the Woodruff School is one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country. We are consistently ranked as one of the top 10 mechanical engineering programs in the U.S. at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and continuously innovate to keep our school at the forefront of engineering education. Plan and administer the academic advising processes within a college or school. Areas supervised include recruitment, curriculum planning, registration requirements, monitoring student progress and recordkeeping. About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking to hire Research Scientist.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Conceive, plan, and conduct individual research in broad areas relevant to the mission of the laboratory (imaging, therapy and contrast/therapeutic agents.
• Serve as the technical lead for the laboratory in your area of expertise.
• Plan and direct a number of collaborative research projects including coordination of research activities between groups and disciplines.
• Develop new instruments, materials, processes, scientific methods, approaches and algorithms.
• Responsible for directing others; plans, organizes, and supervises the work of laboratory scientists, engineers, and technicians. Evaluate progress and results obtained, recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
• Participate in strategic planning; key role in identifying and acquiring research funding.
• Review schedules, cost and documentation to ensure success of projects.

Bachelor's Degree

• Experience in optics, ultrasound, imaging and instrumentation.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical / Controls Engineer to join their team and support the development of engineering and construction packages for facility expansion and buildouts.

The role will be the primary lead on specification and procurement of instrumentation related to

process control, process indication, and control system infrastructure.

This role reports to Company Electrical Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and modification of new and existing process control and instrumentation systems.

• Specify both discrete, analog, and networked control solutions.

• Prepare specifications, design-bid documentation, and construction estimates.

• Review supplier designs against licensor requirements, code requirements, and customer

requirements.

• Develop instrumentation standards to ensure selection compliance across multiple facilities.

• Develop maintenance procedures for instrumentation and control systems.

• Develop inspection plans for instrumentation and control systems.

• Experience in continuous process manufacturing in all the following project phases:

Education

• 7+ years designing electrical control, motor control and heater control panels.

• 7+ years’ experience using AutoCAD Electrical.

• 7+ years of field installation / construction experience

• Knowledge and experience with applicable NEC, UL / CSA standards for electrical equipment &

Electrical construction best practices.

Perform basic task in the maintenance/upkeep, troubleshooting and minor repair of parking equipment, facilities, structures and lots. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: other maintenance staff and contractors. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.

Job Duty 1 -
Perform basic installation, repair and replacement of parking gate components.

Job Duty 2 -
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of parking lots and garages to include installation and painting of signs and meter poles, layout and stripping of stalls, leaf blowing and trash removal and garage lighting replacement.

Job Duty 3 -
Perform minor repairs to asphalt surfaces.

Job Duty 4 -
Perform preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned vehicles and maintenance equipment.

Job Duty 5 -
Load, unload, move and/or install equipment, fixtures and other items.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires ability to operate hand/power tools, motor vehicles (may include sweepers, scrubbers and standard transmission vehicles). A basic working knowledge in equipment maintenance and repair is required. Use of computer applications may be required..
