Overview

This role supports a high-precision aerospace manufacturing organization known for craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvement. The Engineering Supervisor works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, NC Programming, Quality, and Operations to improve processes, integrate new programs, and ensure consistent, compliant production. This leader plays a critical role in mentoring engineers, supporting new product introductions, and resolving manufacturing challenges that impact quality, delivery, and profitability.

Position Responsibilities

• Serve as a key manufacturing engineering representative for new statements of work, new product integration, and process transitions.
• Ensure adherence to internal engineering and manufacturing standards; develop and implement new standards where needed.
• Collaborate with NC Programming, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering on tooling and fixture design.
• Lead and support first-article and first-piece reviews alongside Quality, Engineering, Operations, and NC Programming.
• Mentor, train, and support the development of Manufacturing Engineers and Planners.
• Interface with customers as needed to resolve engineering or producibility issues.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues related to scrap, rework, or low profitability.
• Support estimating and quoting efforts by reviewing designs for manufacturability and risk.
• Provide shop-floor engineering support during first-article builds and process validation.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate technical activities while monitoring performance against budgets, schedules, and organizational goals.
• Play a strong leadership role in New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

As an engineer supporting the Air Breathing Propulsion section, the selected candidate will support the design and analysis needs of unclassified and classified programs in Redondo Beach, California.  Candidate will interface with customers to define study areas and report status on current programs and technology development efforts.  Candidate may interface with their management and technical teams to define business relationships and technology initiatives for both IRAD (Internal Research and Development) and CRAD (Contractual Research and Development) efforts.  This position will support a variety of programs performing analysis and integration activities.

Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience.
• Air Breathing Propulsion knowledge and experience on aircraft (subsonic, supersonic or hypersonic) or missile systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
• Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Education).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, the candidate must have experience with L band RF systems, able to work from customer requirements to derive additional requirements, define the architecture of a possible solution based on requirements, setup a requirements schema & link requirements to documents (systems/subsystem specification, hardware/RF architecture description document, etc.) and flow down applicable requirements to other groups (software, ASIC, & test) so that they can contribute to realize the end solution based on the proposed architecture.

The Lead EE will also oversee the development a qualification test plan that will ensure that the architecture and solution satisfy the customers’ requirements.

The Lead EE will also work with subject matter experts in the areas of GPS signal processing, anti-jam signal processing, other hardware design team members, control software, and government qualification standards.

As a Lead EE, the candidate is expected to understand each aspect of the technology used in the proposed solution.

The Lead EE also must work with the cost account manager, program management, and project management to develop the solution within the program’s budget and schedule.

• Seeking an experienced Associate Principal to lead and design scalable technical architectures with expertise in Architecture Patterns SOA and Microservices
• Design and develop comprehensive architectural diagrams to guide system development and integration Apply advanced Architecture Patterns and Styles to create scalable reliable and maintainable solutions.
• Lead the design and implementation of SOA and Microservicesbased architectures to support business agility
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical architectures with business goals and requirements
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architectural improvements to enhance system performance and scalability
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices across projects.
• Mentor and guide technical teams on architecture principles and design methodologies

Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive the architectural strategy and vision for complex enterprise solutions within the Technical Architecture family
• Develop and maintain architectural frameworks and governance to ensure consistency across projects
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide expert guidance to development teams
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including business development and operations teams. Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies related to architectural decisions
• Lead innovation initiatives by exploring new architectural styles and patterns
• Provide leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex architectural issues
• Support the professional growth of team members through coaching and knowledge sharing
