• A Level II Trauma Center with nice trauma consultants; the ED has 31 licensed beds (flexed up for hall beds and holding patients) and sees 80,000 annual visits.
• Mercy San Juan is also a STEMI receiving Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
• Daily ED Pharmacy coverage; 9-, 10-, and 11-hour shifts with high quality and experienced nursing.

The Practice

• A not-for-profit 342-bed hospital and part of Dignity Health, the largest hospital provider in California.
• Anesthesia Care Team model with medical direction.
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, for physicians with opportunity for overtime.
• No call, no weekends, no holidays.
• Busy outpatient center with approximately 500 cases/month, 6 ORs, 1 GI room.
• Great variety of cases, including orthopedics, complex ENT, podiatry, otolaryngology, reconstructive plastics, gynecology, cataracts and retina, general surgery, and interventional GI procedures.
• Surgery center is attached to the main hospital, so we routinely do ASA 3 & 4 patients with the ability to admit overnight as needed. Occasional healthy pediatric patients for outpatient procedures.
• Emergency Medicine services are also provided by Vituity partners, providing ease of communication and support between departments.

• Keep apprised of changes to local, state, and federal statutes and laws
  
• Prepare for and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration hearings
  
• Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
  
• Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses
  

• Bachelor’s degree with a law degree from an accredited law school (such as an LLM, JSD, or J.D. degree)
  
• Prior experience representing clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
  
• Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with time management and interpersonal skills
  

• Must have a California bar license
• Must have at least 3+ years of solid labor & employment experience, including class actions and PAGA matters
