Underwriting Program Manager – Stop Loss (Fully Remote or Hybrid – Hartford, CT Area)
A growing insurance organization based in Hartford, CT is looking to add an experienced Underwriting Program Manager to oversee a dedicated block of Specific and Aggregate Stop Loss business. This is a key leadership role with ownership over pricing strategy and underwriting results, offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
The position can be fully remote, with a hybrid option (2 days onsite) for candidates located within 50 miles of Hartford.
Compensation: $130,000–$160,000 base salary
Responsibilities:
Evaluate case information and risk factors to develop competitive and sound pricing recommendations for both new and in-force Specific and Aggregate Stop Loss accounts, in alignment with underwriting guidelines.
Review large claim data in advance of clinical review to identify potential high-risk drivers and determine appropriate next steps.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with sales partners, brokers, TPAs, underwriters, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Advise clients and partners on stop loss structures and plan design considerations to ensure appropriate risk protection.
Partner with the sales team throughout the quoting process to help position proposals competitively and strategically.
Exercise independent underwriting authority while ensuring complete and accurate file documentation.
Analyze submissions that fall outside standard guidelines and prepare well-supported exception recommendations for senior leadership review.
Present clear risk assessments, financial impact analysis, and strategic rationale to support executive decision-making.
Review, approve, or decline cases within authority, while offering guidance and alternative structuring recommendations to team members.
Oversee assigned program workflow to ensure timely turnaround and balanced distribution of work across underwriting staff.
Identify and evaluate key medical cost drivers impacting both new business and renewal accounts.
Provide input to senior leadership on enhancements to underwriting guidelines, policies, and best practices.
Mentor and develop underwriting team members to strengthen technical expertise, risk evaluation skills, and overall performance.
Deliver ongoing coaching and structured feedback to drive consistent service standards and productivity.
Partner with administrative teams to ensure documentation supports audit readiness and compliance requirements.
Manage the portfolio to achieve targeted profitability and performance objectives.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of healthcare payers, health plan administration, and medical service providers.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
10+ years of medical stop loss underwriting experience
Prior leadership experience (3+ years managing or mentoring underwriters preferred)
Strong knowledge of stop loss pricing, risk evaluation, and healthcare cost drivers
Proven ability to lead teams while partnering effectively with sales and external stakeholders
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Overview:
The AI Liquid Cooling Lab Intern will support the high visibility, high growth, data center liquid cooling business at PFX. Working alongside senior lab personnel, the role will develop technical solutions to enable effective thermal management of IT hardware used by hyperscale AI Factories leveraging an established background in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, or related discipline. In this role, the accepted candidate will be responsible for preparing coolant formulations, conducting fluid bench tests, maintaining comprehensive documentation, managing production samples, and investigating production quality improvements. This role will be expected to work cross-functionally with analytical, quality, and engineering departments.
We are currently seeking an applicant interested in an internship position at the Prestone Technology Center supporting PFX’s existing data center heat transfer fluid products and developing innovative technologies for cooling the next generation of AI hardware. This role will provide the accepted candidate the opportunity to support research activities, production, product stewardship, and technical growth. A person who is pursuing a chemistry undergraduate degree is preferred. Experience in a wet-chemistry lab is required Job assignments are varied; thus, flexibility is essential.
This is a fully on-site position based at our Danbury, CT location that will be offered during the Summer 2026, lasting for approximately 10-12 weeks. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week. No housing or relocation assistance provided.
As part of the Research and Development team an intern must be able to work on multiple R&D or Development test items simultaneously. Duties include but are not limited to preparing blends of heat transfer fluids/coolants, setting up, maintaining, and tearing down various bench tests, logging and managing the testing of samples received from production or customer sites. An interest in automobile technology is highly desirable.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum education required is a High School degree and enrollment in undergraduate program.
- Minimum of 2 semesters equivalent of hands-on experience in a university, government, or commercial wet chemistry laboratory (organic, analytical, etc.).
- Must be able to follow instructions, work independently and safely in a laboratory environment and work on several projects at the same time.
- Ability to work well with peers across multiple disciplines is required.

Job Summary:
The Analytical Lab Intern plays an integral role in product development and growth of the PFX /Prestone Organization. The responsibilities include the setup, testing, and documentation of analytical testing including physical properties and wet chemistry testing, based out of the PFX/Prestone Danbury, CT site. The PFX/Prestone Technology Center Analytical laboratory also performs ICP, HPLC/UHPLC, and GC/GC-MS testing on automotive consumer products. The Analytical Intern will be expected to run a variety of analytical tests in a demanding fast-paced environment with the internal R&D team as well as external partners to support the development of products, and solve problems based on the needs of the business.
Position Description:
We are currently seeking an applicant interested in an internship position in the Prestone Technology Center conducting analytical testing to support research activities, production, product stewardship, and technical growth. A person who is pursuing a chemistry undergraduate degree is preferred. Job assignments are varied; thus, flexibility is essential.
This is a fully on-site position based at our Danbury, CT location that will be offered during the Summer 2026, lasting for approximately 10-12 weeks. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week. No housing or relocation assistance provided.
As part of the Research and Development team an intern must be able to work on multiple R&D or Development test items simultaneously. Duties include but are not limited to running and monitoring analytical laboratory testing equipment, and conducting wet chemistry tests to evaluate automotive products, with supervision. A respected, multi-state health network is seeking a Full-Time Night Physician Assistant (PA) Hospitalist to join a collegial team at a prominent 371-bed community hospital and Level II Trauma Center. This position is ideal for an experienced or new graduate PA who thrives in an inpatient setting, providing primary medical care to hospitalized patients during variable night shifts (12 hours). Key Responsibilities
- Primary Patient Care: Under the supervision of a physician, provide primary medical care to hospitalized patients.
- Clinical Management: Assist patients in their recovery from acute illnesses and work to minimize the effects of their chronic illnesses.
- Collaboration: Work in a collegial environment alongside experienced physicians and PAs in the Hospitalist Medicine division.
- Schedule: Must be able to work a variable block night schedule, typically 8 PM ? 8 AM (12-hour shifts), amounting to approximately 14 shifts per month, including two weekends per month.
