Position Description:

The position of Estimator should be capable of preparing proposals for all types of projects (i.e. commercial, industrial, mission critical, education, healthcare, underground, etc.). An individual in this position shall have experience in understanding the means and methods required for completion of various types of construction. A successful estimator shall be able to complete all required take-offs, requests for proposal package reviews, and site reviews required to prepare any proposal. This position will attend project related meetings and site visits when required, complete site visits and scope discussions with assigned Superintendent, Project manager or his designee, and clearly communicate the project requirements and basis for their estimate during bid reviews.

Required Skills:

Performance Health is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. The role partners cross functionally to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance safety, cost, and delivery performance. The position plays a key role in building a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and lead improvements across manufacturing operations for processes and equipment
• Serve as expert on lean manufacturing tools and implementation for manufacturing operations
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions to improve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery
• Conduct training, as needed, on lean manufacturing principles
• Identify, develop, and present business case for insourcing opportunities, use of new technology and automation projects
• Implement process capability monitoring and improvements
• Manage improvement projects from concept through implementation and sustainment
• Lead large transformation projects for manufacturing operations
• Define project scope, objectives, metrics, and timelines
• Track and report progress, savings, and performance improvements to leadership
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, industrial manufacturing or similar
• 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
• 5+ years’ experience implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
• Project management skills and experience
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing P&L and perform cost justifications (ROI, NPV, etc.)
• Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Preferred experience in medical device manufacturing, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR 820
• Ability to travel 50% of the time, including overnight travel

• This is a full-time position with a base salary range of $120,000 - $135,000 and the opportunity to earn bonus, plus benefits.

What You Do:

Supplier Quality:

• Act as the lead for all aspects of supplier quality
• Work cross-functionally to evaluate the current Supplier base and create supplier scorecards
• Manage supplier tier list and inspection processes based on supplier performance
• Development of sampling and testing procedures for current and new materials. Creates instructions to standardize the process
• Track any Supplier non-conformances and work with the Quality and Purchasing teams to find solutions to these non-conformances
• Coordinate corrective actions from vendors when repeat quality issues are discovered
• Continuous improvement of incoming inspection process for the receiving team
• Establish vendor code of conduct

Quality Assurance:

• Assist team in Continuous Improvement efforts by managing center line aspect of our lean systems for all work centers
• Develop process improvements for outgoing finished good inspections to work towards a “zero defects” culture
• Assist with initiatives to train operators to specific customer requirements and cosmetic expectations to improve “Right First Time” and reduce complaints
• Support the efforts in quality and environmental system audits to ensure compliance and standards
• Assist in the routine management of quality systems (change requests, document control, process audits)

Environmental Health & Safety

• Support sustainability initiatives internally and with vendors to support our growing EHS commitment (material waste, process efficiencies)
• Support recertification audits

Who You Are:

• 3+ years of experience within quality
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• ISO knowledge and audit experience
• Lean and/or Six Sigma training, certifications, or experience
• Willingness to travel as needed for supplier visits/audits, etc. (very infrequently – 2-3 trips per year)
