Job Summary


The Strategic Commodity Buyer is responsible for buying materials and services, effectively analyzing material inventory, account assignments, pricing, and alternative sources, and ensuring that supply commitments/business needs are met. The Strategic Commodity Buyer supports plant operations with specific procurement related needs, identifies and delivers cost savings opportunities, evaluates suppliers, issues purchase orders for materials, services, and capital expenditures, and manages ongoing supplier interactions on behalf of the plant operations.


Job Responsibilities


  • Work with plant ops and commercial teams and ERP to effectively purchase and arrange delivery of materials and services.
  • Work with plant operations to clarify specifications, establish source alternatives, increase standardization, and otherwise increase value related to purchases.
  • Validate order confirmations, update PO data in ERP, expedite open / late PO’s, and communicate open orders status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support manufacturing plants with procurement related affairs including request for quotation, new vendor set up, part number creation, assistance with procurement related systems, onboarding assistance & training of relevant site procurement personnel, and executing any other procurement related matters for the site within its purview.
  • Work with Sourcing Team/CRH Commodity Teams to track market conditions, pricing trends, and opportunities to maximize purchasing value.
  • Collaborate with plant teams to establish economic order quantities for direct materials.
  • Ensure that purchasing decisions and strategies are aligned with the business strategic supply chain objectives.
  • Monitor/research order history of similar products purchased to evaluate/track differences in costs, delivery, quality, and performance.
  • Be familiar with the supply chain (manufacturing, distribution, delivery, use, service, and disposal) related to the products and services being purchased.
  • Support alternate source development for critical commodities to support competitive cost structure within the IPG business unit.
  • Manage and facilitate the documentation and approvals for requisitions / purchase orders.
  • Work with the supply chain group and plant operations to follow proper contract management.
  • Support the vendor data management/vendor master maintenance processes through adherence to established payment terms and identifying the need for new or updated data information.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3+ years of business, purchasing, operations or related experience.
  • Experience working with P2P systems, databases/data warehouse applications, ERP systems and / or Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Experience with procurement tools, processes, and systems.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification desired.
  • Experience in manufacturing, building materials, mining or construction sectors would be beneficial.

Position Summary:

The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates for projects in environmental remediation and industrial services. This includes evaluating technical specifications, developing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor/vendor quotes, and compiling proposals that align with compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in supporting project acquisition and ensuring operational teams are positioned for successful execution.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review project specifications, environmental plans, and site assessments to develop complete and accurate cost estimates.

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for site work, excavation, decontamination, waste disposal, civil construction, and related industrial services.

• Evaluate and interpret technical scopes related to hazardous waste handling, water/soil remediation, asbestos/lead abatement, and confined space work.

• Solicit and assess subcontractor/vendor bids for specialized environmental and industrial scopes. • Identify regulatory compliance costs, site constraints, and logistics considerations during bid preparation.

• Prepare bid proposals, supporting documentation, and cost breakdowns for fixed price, T&M, and unit-rate contracts.

• Support pre-bid site walks, client proposal meetings, and internal handoff to project execution teams.

• Track historical data and update pricing databases to reflect market conditions and job costing trends.

• Collaborate with project managers, health & safety professionals, and field supervisors during estimate development and project transitions.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

• 5–10 years of experience estimating in environmental remediation, industrial services, or heavy civil construction.

• Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., EPA, OSHA, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA).

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to define the architectural vision and roadmap for ServiceNow implementations.
  • Customization & Configuration: Oversee the customization and configuration of ServiceNow modules, ensuring best practices and scalability.
  • Integration Design: Architect integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems (such as LDAP, Active Directory, SAP, and custom APIs), ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring the adoption of best practices and consistent, high-quality coding standards.
  • Platform Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize ServiceNow environments for performance, usability, and cost-efficiency, including reviewing data models, integrations, and workflows.
  • Governance & Security: Establish governance processes to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of ServiceNow environments, including the proper management of data, access control, and system configurations.
  • Client Engagement: Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and recommendations to clients on ServiceNow architecture, process automation, and platform capabilities.
  • Documentation: Produce comprehensive solution documentation, including architecture diagrams, workflows, and implementation guides.
  • Upgrades & Enhancements: Lead efforts for system upgrades, patching, and platform enhancements, ensuring minimal impact on operations and aligning with new ServiceNow releases and features.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions, with at least 3 years in a lead or architect role.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in ServiceNow architecture, design, and configuration, including ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, and CMDB
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities, modules, and best practices
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions, including ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and emerging modules, with deep knowledge of the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) for platform alignment
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, OAuth2, JWT, and MID Server, ensuring seamless interoperability with external systems like AWS, Azure, Salesforce, or other enterprise platforms. Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, etc.)
  • Expertise in designing solutions to maintain platform integrity, optimize CMDB structure, and enforce best practices in performance, scalability, and usability
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow update sets, version control, deployment processes, and platform governance frameworks to ensure optimal performance and compliance
  • Familiarity with advanced ServiceNow features such as Flow Designer, Virtual Agent, and Predictive Intelligence
  • Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), or ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) preferred
  • ITIL Knowledge: Strong understanding and practical experience with ITIL frameworks, particularly Incident, Problem, Change Management, and Configuration Management, and the ability to map these processes to ServiceNow capabilities
  • Project Management: Experience with agile methodologies and managing large-scale ServiceNow implementations
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams, guiding developers, and liaising with stakeholders at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules (Discovery, Orchestration, Event Management)
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and their integration with ServiceNow
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow deployments
  • Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks to drive operational efficiencies
