ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead design reviews (DFM) for R&D prototype fixture design and manufacturing equipment and custom tooling to ensure readiness for new product launches.
• Drive Automation strategy, ensuring hardware can meet strict performance metrics & regulatory requirements
• Support the end-to-end development of complete automation systems, from initial design to installation at global contract manufacturing sites.
• Serve as the primary technical lead for equipment qualification, managing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Systematically troubleshoot complex system failures to the component level, ensuring minimal downtime during product scale-up.
• Determine the root cause of equipment and system test failures.
• Deep understanding of machine design/qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility with deep understanding of data analytics and statistical method
• Develop and/or oversee the writing of User Requirement Specifications, Statements of Work and manufacturing requirement specifications

• What are 3-6 deliverables that would indicate success in the position?
• Successful FAT/SAT: Seamless execution and documentation of equipment qualification for at least two major production lines.
• Optimized Yield: Development of statistical reports that optimize pass/fail criteria, leading to a measurable reduction in scrap rates.
• Process Stability: Completion of Gauge R&R and CPK studies that prove machine capability (Cpk > 1.33) for critical-to-quality dimensions.
• Failure Resolution: Reduction in "Mean Time to Repair" (MTTR) through the creation of structured troubleshooting guides for CMO partners.

• Experience working within highly regulated quality frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, or tobacco-specific regulatory environments).

17A is supporting a large Bay Area county agency on a technology and digital services transformation effort. This is a fully embedded, on-site role — not parachuting in. You'll work inside the agency's digital innovation team, sitting alongside Deputy-level leadership to help the county deliver on its mission to make government more human, more responsive, and more digital. This position is a contract role with the potential to convert to full-time after a few months.

Electrical Engineer - Data Centers - San Francisco

This Electrical Engineer position will specialize in data center facility design to be embedded directly with a major end-user client.

Responsibilities:

• Assessing third-party and colocation facilities being considered for acquisition, evaluating their suitability against the client's portfolio requirements.

Responsibilities

We are actively recruiting a Strategic Partnerships Manager for our Optical Interconnect program in the Photonics Platforms Business (PPB).

PPB is a rapidly growing business within Applied Materials. We are harnessing the power of Applied Material’s world-leading material science and nano-fabrication capabilities to enable the next generation of Optical Interconnects for AI Data Centers.

The purpose of the Strategic Partnerships Manager role is to develop and nurture deep engagements with our most important partners.

Experience in the Photonics industry is essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop deep long term partner relationships.
• Negotiate and own joint development agreements and programs.
• Scope and coordinate partner project plans and Statements of Work, in tight collaboration with engineering
• Team with the Engineering, Technical Project Management, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain groups.
• Ensure execution to your commitments
• Transition Joint Development programs into long term supply arrangement together with the Supply Chain team.
• Shape partner and internal roadmaps.
• Keep up to date on the industry ecosystem, and educate the management team on changes, and what they mean.

Key skills and experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a technical discipline. MBA a plus
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening and questioning to really understand what partners bring to us, and what they need from us
• Fluent English language and experience communicating with people from different countries on the phone and in-person
• Experience in the AI Data Center, AI, or Silicon Photonics industries
• Experience developing strategic partnerships
• Business savvy – understands business basics
• Partner empathy
• Excellent presentation skills
• Experience influencing action without owning resources
• Experience in managing projects together with the engineering team

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.

As a Mission Systems Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Systems team and will report to the Systems & Safety Manager. The Systems & Safety Team is responsible for architecting systems that support novel safety-critical functions, establishing development methodologies for new technologies, and complying with the federal regulations.

As part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to expanding the aircraft's mission and functional capabilities. Your first-hand pilot experience and your engineering experience in design and development will further strengthen the team's ability to meet rigorous expectations of stakeholders and certification authorities. You will collaborate with members from other groups within Reliable Robotics to develop new and novel systems necessary for unmanned aircraft operations.

Responsibilities

• In your role as a Mission Systems Engineer you will contribute to the development of prototypes and certifiable safety-critical flight systems in a dynamic start-up work environment

• Define and document mission-related aspects of future aircraft operation using insight from a pilot's perspective

• Define and communicate strategies and plans for type certification and operational approval

• Develop training and support documents needed to deploy autonomous systems in an operational environment

• Support system architecture development and assess trade-off studies regarding performance, complexity, risk, and effort

• Capture system requirements and interfaces to drive avionics hardware and software development

• Perform operational safety assessments in support of experimental and production missions

• Provide engineering expertise in the design, development, test and validation of vehicle level functions and performances

• You'll also have the opportunity to interact with other domains within Reliable Robotics and become involved in a broad task spectrum not limited to typical system engineering activities

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline

• FAA-Certificated Pilot (Commercial, or Airline Transport) or Dispatcher with two or more years of operational experience under 14 CFR * 135, 14 CFR * 121 or Corporate Flight Operations

• Broad experience from 7+ years of designing various systems, integrations, and testing of complex safety-critical aerospace systems or equivalent technology

Preferred Criteria

• Advanced Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline

• Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together with the ability to assess risk and make design and development decisions based first principles without all available data

• Experience certifying flight critical systems, hardware, and software via ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-254, and DO-178C respectively

This role is critical to us at Reliable Robotics, because it works to convert the real world challenges of piloting an aircraft into requirements for an aircraft system that flies itself.

This role can be remote, or located at our facility in Mountain View, California.

Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
