About Your Role at SABIN:
The Senior Industrial Engineer will be responsible for connecting our manufacturing activities with our commercial activities and business needs; ensuring we have the systems in place to produce quality products on time in a safe and professional manner. Our production environment is both reliant on high levels of craft and engineering. We make our products on demand to suit the needs of the architectural projects we supply; we do not build and stock. You will optimize operations to support this business model. Sabin was founded in 2021 and is now in a period of robust growth; we are establishing processes and policies for the first time. You will design and implement new processes and policies in collaboration with our talented existing team. Sabin has operational problems typical of a growing company, with the resources to solve them. In this role, you will dual report to the CEO and Co-Founder. What You'll Do:
- Learn and know our business: Learn the ins-and-outs of our business demands and dynamics of our B2B commercial transactions. This context helps inform prioritization.
- Organize Data, Labor, Space and Materials: Identify and define problems in our organization and operation, and work with CEO and Co-Founder to prioritize and solve them.
- Industrial Engineering: Analyze and improve our flow of data, labor and materials, Partner with our engineering, systems, and manufacturing teams to implement changes for improved results.
- ERP Implementation: Contribute to the continued implementation of our ERP and MRP systems to serve your needs in reporting process management.
- Production Management: Partner with our manufacturing team to plan our production, scheduling work to best use our factory and team to ship projects accurately and on time.
- Material & Purchasing Planning: Partner with our ERP Systems Manager to design more automated processes to ensure that we have the materials needed to build our jobs. Manage the competing pressures of minimizing our lead-times while minimizing our inventory.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering is a requirement.
- Manufacturing experience: Direct experience in a manufacturing environment is a core requirement for this role.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief of Intergovernmental Relations leads the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs whose primary focus is advocating for CPS students before every level of government to shape education policy. This role leads the District's intergovernmental relations strategy, establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with elected leaders while ensuring the District proactively monitors and responds to the planning, development and execution of federal and state legislation, and municipal ordinances that affect CPS. This is a full-time, exempt position that will be paid for time worked on a salary basis.
The Chief, Intergovernmental Affairs will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Advise the CEO, District leadership, and the Chicago Board of Education on local, state, and federal public policy.
- Lead the development and implementation of the District's intergovernmental affairs strategy.
- Manage the operations, performance, and effectiveness of the Intergovernmental Affairs Office and team, including the successful development, monitoring, and achievement of the team's shared goals and continuous improvement strategy, and the creation and management of the Office's budget.
- Actively advocate for initiatives and legislation favorable to CPS and work to deter legislation that does not benefit student progress.
- Work closely with executive leaders as a strategic thought partner to support effective policy decisions that result in positive student outcomes.
- Partner with outside organizations, government agencies, and elected officials to secure additional external resources for CPS students.
- Provide appropriate supervision, mentoring, and development opportunities to Intergovernmental Affairs staff, including regular performance reviews and professional growth plans.

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Chief, Intergovernmental Affairs must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university; Focus in Business Administration, Education, Policy, or Public Administration preferred

Experience Required:
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience, including a minimum of ten (10) years of professional government relations experience required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience leading high-functioning teams required
- Policy experience at a strategic senior leadership level in a large, fast-paced urban school district or public institution strongly preferred

Selected candidates should possess knowledge and experience in construction engineering and inspection for private and public sector projects; including, but not limited to mass grading, utility installation, roadway design and construction, and/or private development. Candidate will also oversee construction of roadway and utility infrastructure projects. The role may involve part time engineering design, plan review, and/or cost estimation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the onsite project representative and liaison to the owner/client.
- Perform all required aspects of project contract administration.

- Prepare design calculations quantity take-offs and cost estimates.

Key Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 3+ years of construction or hybrid design-construction experience.
