Position Objective

Dunn Building Company is seeking a high-caliber Estimator to support our Gulf Coast operations. This is a critical new position designed to enhance the pre-construction process.
You will manage the bid schedule and execute both conceptual and detailed estimates for design-build and general construction projects in the Gulf region

Key Responsibilities
• Estimating Leadership: Take full ownership of the Gulf Coast bid schedule and lead conceptual estimating efforts using historical data or bridging documents. • Execution: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed concrete and general construction packages. • Strategic Collaboration: Coordinate with Business Development on decisions and lead estimate reviews with Project Managers and Superintendents. • System Mastery: Utilize WinEst for estimating and Vista for accounting and job cost integration. • Seller-Doer Mentality: Cultivate repeat business through professional client communication and extreme accuracy.

Skills & Experience Needed
• Experience: Ideally 5–15 years of construction estimating experience within a general contractor or specialty structural concrete environment. • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of labor and material costs, specifically for concrete and steel. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field (equivalent field experience will be considered). • Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Autodesk Build or WinEst is a plus. • Leadership Style: A "hungry, humble, and smart" self-starter who acts like an owner and desires to grow a larger department eventually.
