The Manufacturing Engineer owns manufacturing process development, NPI readiness, and production performance for assigned programs. This role independently manages multiple programs and is responsible for process capability, yield performance, equipment readiness, and successful transition from engineering to production.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring technical rigor, structured change control behavior, and the ability to move efficiently between projects without loss of detail or ownership.
· Own manufacturing readiness for NPI programs including process development, tooling, equipment readiness, and validation
· Develop, optimize, and scale manufacturing processes for efficiency, repeatability, and cost
· Lead transition from prototype to full production, ensuring clear handoff, process control, and operator readiness
· Design and validate fixtures, tooling, and test processes using DFM/DFA principles
· Provide primary engineering support for production issues, driving rapid resolution of process, tooling, and equipment-related failures
· Analyze production data (yield, scrap, cycle time, downtime) and implement corrective and preventive actions
· Lead structured root cause investigations (8D, Fishbone, etc.) and ensure effective, sustainable closure
· Execute and manage ECO implementation impacting manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Quality, and Operations to improve product manufacturability and process robustness
· Own preventative maintenance programs for production equipment, fixtures, and test systems to ensure reliability and uptime
· Define and optimize maintenance intervals, procedures, and spare strategies based on equipment performance and failure trends
· Track equipment performance (uptime, downtime trends) and drive corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce production impact
· Ownership & Accountability – Takes responsibility for design quality, documentation accuracy, and follow-through.
· Process Discipline – Organized, structured, and comfortable working within controlled revision and PLM systems.
· Parallel Execution Capability – Able to manage multiple active projects without losing detail, responsiveness, or urgency.
· Technical Initiative – Hands-on, proactive in testing and troubleshooting, and motivated to solve problems beyond assigned tasks.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
· 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
· Proven experience with NPI, process development, and production support
· Experience with troubleshooting equipment, maintenance coordination, or reliability improvement
· Strong experience with ERP systems and controlled change processes (ECOs)
· Ability to work on-site in a regulated manufacturing environment
· ITAR eligibility required
· Aerospace, defense, industrial, or medical device manufacturing.
· Experience in low-volume, high-mix production environments.
· Experience with preventative maintenance systems and equipment reliability metrics
· Fixture/tooling design and validation
· Lean manufacturing and process optimization
· Test systems and production equipment integration
