Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager – Facilities plans and leads facility construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects from concept to handover. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with company standards, regulations, and operational needs. The manager works with Facilities, Engineering, Operations, IT, SHE, Security, and external partners to support manufacturing, engineering, and office environments with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities

We're seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Heat Treat Process Engineering Supervisor to lead and support all aspects of the heat treatment operations with a focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Heat Treat Process Engineering Supervisor serves as a technical expert responsible for ensuring the proper thermal processing of materials to meet metallurgical and production requirements meeting all CQI-9 requirements. This role includes overseeing furnace operations, audits, documentation, process control, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong metallurgical knowledge, heat treat process experience, the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and the ability to manage compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role has direct supervisory responsibility for Lab Technicians, including scheduling, performance management, training, and ensuring compliance with laboratory testing standards and metallurgical validation requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Complete):
- Oversee and manage daily heat treat operations including carburizing, hardening, tempering, and stress relieving
- Ensure compliance with AIAG CQI-9: Heat Treat System Assessment (HTSA) and other applicable standards
- Implement and maintain heat treat process control plans per AIAG guidelines
- Conduct and lead CQI-9 self-assessments, audits, and ensure closure of gaps and non-conformances
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation of furnaces and quench systems
- Monitor thermal cycles and maintain control charts, pyrometry data, and process records per CQI-9
- Support system accuracy tests (SAT), temperature uniformity surveys (TUS), and instrumentation calibration activities
- Ensure all documentation meets internal and customer-specific AIAG compliance requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to address process improvements and problem-solving
- Perform metallurgical inspections including hardness testing and microstructure verification
- Provide technical guidance to operators and maintenance personnel on best practices
- Develop and optimize heat treat process parameters including atmosphere control, quench severity, and thermal cycle design to meet metallurgical and dimensional requirements

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role is required to perform preventative maintenance, continuous improvement initiatives, programming and repair duties for the company owned equipment such as SMT equipment, THM/PTH equipment, test fixtures, solder fixtures, fume extracts, and other equipment in our PCBA manufacturing departments. The role will also maintain, repair, program and assist in the installation of new equipment. - The Plant Quality Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities required to direct and control the organization's activities impacting quality as delivered to our customers for the JCI Airside Center of Excellence (ACE) in our York, PA facility.
- They are responsible for the Quality Management System in the facility and will continuously monitor/improve the system.
- The job function covers all operational aspects of the facility; they will manage all quality efforts relating to assembly areas in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with specified business requirements.
How you will do it:
- Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization by maintaining a constant awareness of the customer's perspective from a QA standpoint, this includes collecting and analyzing performance data against defined parameters.
- Develops and implements plans for overall defect-reduction programs, monitors their effectiveness and implements appropriate adjustments.
- Brings together staff of different disciplines and leads the group to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures, including APQP concepts.
- Works methodically to establish a clearly defined system that all staff can apply and incorporate.
- The Manager interfaces with customers for resolution of any problems with finished goods, including in-process or final product acceptance documents. Acts as the key contact with customers' auditors and takes responsibility for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications.

- Participates in the review of design, manufacturing, purchasing and test documentation to ensure that the design and customer's requirements are met on assigned products. Ensures tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary
- Evaluates discrepant materials, conducts MRB and leads the plant management team in dispositioning materials and driving appropriate corrective actions
- Works with Purchasing to establish and maintain quality requirements for external suppliers. Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation, this includes adjudication of vendor claims for recovery of monies that result from vendor-related quality problems.
- The Manager recruits, retains, manages and conducts performance evaluations for subordinate personnel to ensure a well-qualified and motivated department.
What we look for:
This position requires a BS in Engineering or a BS Equivalent in a technical field, with a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment in the role of Quality Control Manager or Senior Engineer.
- ISO 9001 lead auditor certification required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) required, Minitab or similar statistical analysis software preferred.
- ASQ CQM certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- This position is 100% in office, no remote or hybrid work is possible.
- Approximately 10% travel required.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000-$150,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
