Position Title Speech Pathologist I, Outpatient Otolaryngology (ENT) Medical Pavilion Position Summary / Career Interest: The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is part of a team of nurses, advanced practice providers and physicians committed to treating a range of complex adult voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders in an outpatient medical setting.
• The SLP is integrated into the Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (OTO-HNS) clinic and has a hands-on role in the clinical and instrumental evaluation of patients.
The SLP frequently works in tandem with fellowship-trained Laryngologist and Head & Neck Oncologic Surgeons.
• The SLP engages in collaborative and longitudinal care of patients with voice/swallow/airway disorders, providing comprehensive therapy while promoting best-practices in patient care.
• The SLP plays a role in advancing the field of speech language pathology through teaching (graduate students from the KU SLP program and OTO-HNS residents) and opportunities to participate in clinical research Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Evaluate and treat patients referred to laryngology services for voice/swallow/airway concerns.
This includes:a.
Obtaining a detailed case history.
b.
Obtaining objective measures and psychoacoustic judgments of phonatory ability.c.
Administering and interpreting acoustic analysis for documentation of vocal parameters.d.
Administering and interpreting videolaryngostroboscopic, videonasoendoscopic, FEES and modified barium video swallow evaluationse.
Utilizes electromyography machine in accordance with laryngologist for various therapeutic tasks Provide pre-treatment evaluation and counseling and post-treatment care for patients undergoing treatment for head and neck cancer.
This includes:a.
Provide pre- and post-treatment swallowing evaluation for patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment (chemoradiation) of head and neck cancer.b.
Provide post-treatment dysphagia therapy for patients requiring rehabilitation after treatment for head and neck cancer.c.
Provide pre-operative education and counseling for patients undergoing laryngectomy and establish a plan of care for post-operative alaryngeal speech restoration, to include use of electrolarynx, esophageal speech and tracheoesophageal prosthesis (TEP).d.
Evaluate, manage and replace TEP voice prostheses Advocate for patients undergoing treatment for rehabilitation of voice/swallow/airway disorders and interact on the patient's behalf with physicians, nurses, employers, etca.
Interpret evaluation results for patients, their families and medical staff and make appropriate recommendations for management and treatment.b.
Develop appropriate goals for each patient, and design and execute a therapeutic program to meet these goals.

When appropriate, makes referrals for medical evaluation, audiology services or follow up by other medical professionals.
Maintain documentation and certifications required for patient carea.
Maintain documentation of patient contact according to JCAHO procedures and standards.

Ensure documentation is clear and concise, and in compliance with departmental KSHA and ASHA guidelines, and regulatory requirements from third party payers.

We are seeking a Mental Health Provider to join our Grandview Middle School team.
Starting Salary: $ 50,000- $55,000 (Salary)
Bonus: $2500 ($1000 Sign-on bonus will be paid on your first paycheck and the $1500 Retention bonus will be paid after 12 months of service.)
This role will support students, families, and district personnel in the Grandview School District's two middle schools to address personal, emotional and social problems that interfere with school adjustment and promote students' academic success following a school social worker model. This position is a full-time twelve (12) month position per year. Nine (9) months of the year services will be provided in the district's two middle schools. During the three (3) months over the summer services will be extended for identified students and families, providing individual and/or family support in school, home and/or community
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide consultation to building administrators and teacher support teams on issues related to mental health
- Provide assessment of and direct therapeutic services to students at the middle school level, and/or their families, who are experiencing social and emotional problems at school
- Provide traditional school social work support to students and/or their families at the middle school level, as needed, to provide options and referrals to ensure community available resource acquisition
- Provide direct mental health services to at-risk students at the middle school level
- Participate in agency and district in-service training as requested and appropriate
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in social work, marriage and family therapy, or as a licensed professional counselor.
- Familiar with implications of trauma, attachment and diversity.
- 1-2 years of experience working with this population.
- At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening.
- A valid driver's license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
PREFERRED
- Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or professional counselor.
- Provisionally Licensed Professional (e.g. LMSW, PLPC, LMFT).
- 3-5 years of experience working with this population.

Thank you Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Completes the cooking process of menu items requiring basic technical skills, such as soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs using daily worksheets and standardized recipes.
Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
Demonstrates ability to provide care/service safely and efficiently for the care of each patient.
Performs duties in Food Production and/or the Cafeteria.
Organizes daily production in unit.
Prepares food for inventory and/or service including portioning, wrapping, labeling, dating food items prepared for patients, cafeteria, and/or catering according to unit standards.
Ensures proper storage and rotation of inventories in refrigerators and freezers following HACCP and department standards.
Maintains a safe and sanitary food preparation/service environment per unit standards.
Tests and evaluates new recipes, Adjusts work hours to early or late to prepare needed Cafeteria or Catering products.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience Some experience as a cook in a restaurant, institutional or large volume feeding.
