Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), is seeking a Senior Avionics Hardware Engineer - Fighters Mission Systems (Level 5)in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

• Overall subject matter expert and technical lead engineer for the Mission Computers and Stores Management hardware for requirements development, avionics subsystem and system design, integration, subsystem/system/flight test, system verification, production/fielding, and supplier oversight

• Lead the hardware supplier design team in supporting all Tactical Fighters program needs

• Develop interface control documents describing mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces

• Perform technical problem investigation and resolution at subsystem, system, and platform integration levels

  Perform weapon capability development, implementation, and integration onto a fighters platform

• Out brief status to internal Boeing stakeholders/leadership and external customers

• Support subsystem testing on the Mission Systems Hardware

• Support system testing in ESIL and during Flight Test

• Support SCFTA efforts for the Mission Systems Hardware

• Support airworthiness efforts for hardware design, development and implementation

The DevSecOps Lead Engineer will architect and implement secure development and execution environments for the rapid prototyping and experimentation we use to answer our customers’ toughest questions about future technologies and capabilities. The Virtual Warfare Center executes far-reaching analysis to address military capability gaps in and across multiple warfighting domains in the face of accelerating adversary capabilities. In DevSecOps you will be part of a team modernizing our approach to software development and enhancing our security posture.

As the Virtual Warfare Center’s DevSecOps Team Lead you will lead a team of engineers designing, implementing, and monitoring software development infrastructure across multiple networks and physical locations across the United States. You will build and maintain cross-functional relationships with multiple teams to coordinate the selection, approval, deployment, and maintenance of a consistent set of software tools in all locations. Your work will guarantee our development and deployment infrastructure and processes are reliable, efficient, consistent, and secure. Your team will partner with relevant stakeholders to create processes, design cloud-based solutions, support deploying applications in cloud environments, evaluate solution performance and implement enhancements. Frequent interaction with program leadership, customers, and industry partners during critical design phases will be key elements of this position. Position Responsibilities:

• Implement a test infrastructure to maximize automation using the latest available digital tools

• Perform Mission Systems verification/validation test integrating multiple hardware and software components

• Support testing efforts of component and subsystem groups

• Execute Mission Systems integration testing

• Create/ update and employ automated test tools and scripts

• Work in a lab environment to perform verification of the interfaces between multiple Mission Systems hardware and software components

• Define necessary lab infrastructure updates required to support Mission Systems verification test

• Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs

• Test and validate system functionality and performance to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements.

• Document newly discovered hardware of software anomalies; reports test metrics to all stakeholders

• Continuously assess and update engineering processes for improvement.

This position is expected to be 100% on-site. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

• A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

• Level 5: 14+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 12+ years of work-related experience with a master’s degree

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Master’s degree or higher

• Experience supporting a Proprietary Program

• Experience executing in an Agile work environment and implementing Agile Methodologies

• Experience working in Cameo, or similar Model Based Systems Engineering tools

• Experience with modern software development methodologies to include DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with Mission Systems Open Architecture Standards

• Experience across multiple phases of the product life-cycle

• A final U.S. top secret clearance preferred.

Typical Education/Experience:

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
