Supplier Quality Process Engineer
Job Description
This is a Hybrid role in Tualatin, OR 97062 (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). Regular shift M-F.
We are seeking a highly motivated Supplier Quality / Process Engineer to lead process and product evaluations focused on precision cleaning and micro-contamination control within a complex supply chain environment. In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact (SPOC), driving cross-functional initiatives across supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers. You’ll play a critical role in new product introduction (NPI), supplier development, and failure analysis, ensuring high-quality, repeatable manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years (BS) or 2+ years (MS) of relevant experience
Hands-on experience in:
- Precision cleaning or metal fabrication
- Manufacturing or process/product development
- Failure analysis related to contamination (inorganic, organic, particle)
Strong working knowledge of:
- GD&T, SPC, DOE, FMEA, FA, RCCA, 8D, 5-Whys
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and solve complex technical problems
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel within the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the SPOC for supply chain projects, managing customer failure analysis (FA) and process development across surface treatment & fabrication
- Lead cross-functional teams (CFTs) including supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, field service, and suppliers
- Drive supplier quality and manufacturing readiness, ensuring robust and repeatable processes
- Coordinate new product development (NPI) activities with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits, managing both new and existing supplier performance
- Design and execute experiments (DOE), analyze data, and deliver actionable insights
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as RCCA, 8D, and 5-Whys
- Identify and mitigate technical and operational supply chain risks
- Drive continuous improvement using Six Sigma and process control techniques (SPC)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in precision cleaning and high-volume metal fabrication
- Experience in the semiconductor industry
- Strong background in supplier management and development
- Proven experience leading large cross-functional teams to resolve failure analysis and contamination issues
- Experience in identifying and managing supply chain risks.
