5 Tower (Cardiac Surgery & Step-Down Unit): is a 32-bed inpatient, private room unit specializing in care for post-op cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, lung transplants, heart transplants, and advanced heart failure (LVADs). This unit is unique in that we also have a 6-bed transitional unit with higher acuity patients that require specialized care. The nurses on this unit will learn several skills, including, but not limited to cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips, chest tubes, and external pacers.

7SW (Surgical & General Trauma Unit): is a 33-bed adult inpatient surgical unit located on the 7th floor occupying the south and west wings. Patient population may include but not limited to the following: Trauma, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Gynecology and Medicine. 7SW is a semi-private unit. RN works with a PCT. A charge RN is assigned for both shifts to facilitate immediate unit needs and acts as direct resource. Acute nursing care treatment and monitoring modalities include but not limited to periodic vital signs, centralized telemetry, oxygen monitoring, glucose monitoring and wound care. Most common diagnoses and surgical procedures are traumatic brain injury, polytraumas, cholecystectomies, prostatectomies, joint replacements, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) urinary diversions, and other urologic procedures, bowel resections and ostomies.

Neurosciences is a 20-bed medical-surgical unit that specializes in the care of neurology, neurosurgery, ENT, and OMFS patients. We have 4 private rooms and 8 Semi-private rooms. Some of the specific diagnoses we see include strokes, epilepsy, movement disorders, and brain tumors. Some of the specific surgical cases we see are craniotomies, spinal surgeries, head and neck cancer surgeries, and oral surgeries.

About the RoleThis position offers the opportunity to use your technical expertise in a high‑acuity environment while directly contributing to life‑saving procedures.
You will perform specialized diagnostic and interventional support within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, operating a wide range of hemodynamic monitoring systems, radiographic equipment, and PACS technology. Your skills will support the diagnosis and treatment of both cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
What you'll do
In this role, you will provide essential technical support to physicians, nurses, and patients throughout each procedure. You will also serve as a mentor—teaching, guiding, and supporting other technicians and clinical team members in proper procedural techniques and best practices.
You’ll help ensure the Cath Lab remains safe, efficient, and well‑organized, playing a key part in maintaining standards of excellence and a smooth workflow for the entire team.

- Associate degree or equivalent training through education or relevant work experience
- 1–2 years of Cath Lab or related clinical experience, or recent RT graduate
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license

Pay Range: $30.99 - $50.71 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
