Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of project budget based on the takeoff estimate
• Plan, organize and manage the construction project in all areas from start to successful completion including contract proposal, budget, change orders, materials procurement, billing, and collection.
• Comply with project contract including legal notifications, scope administration, change order procedures, billing, contract schedules, claims procedures and other contract requirements.
• Responsible for cost management. Monitor efficiency and production for compliance with labor budget.
• Work with field and others on the project team to maintain project tracking and reporting to ensure work progress and budget compliance.
• Control, collect and disseminate all project documentation.
• Maintain professional and timely communication with the general contractor, design team, owner, subcontractors, various company divisions and other key participants.
• Ensure the procurement of major equipment and fixtures
• Assure that all production meets quality control standards. Protect and mitigate liability.
• Support and participate in the company safety program.
• Take off, estimate and Formulate change order requests in a timely and efficient manner and updated internal budgets.
• Proactively manage construction costs to promote the overall projects success
• Communicate with management, vendors, and construction team as necessary.

Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to understand scope and identify any gaps or discrepancies.
• Support material, labor, and equipment take-offs, assist with quantity verification and preliminary cost estimates.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction, general contracting, or construction management, preferably with exposure to estimating, takeoffs, and subcontractor coordination.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The R&D Testing Technician will execute daily engineering test assigned by Engineering Manager. The candidate will perform various acoustical, mechanical, and electrical tests. The candidate will support the engineers in their ongoing R&D testing to achieve their task on time. They are hiring an experienced Outside Sales Professional to drive new business growth and help expand their footprint in medical, aerospace, and defense manufacturing.

This role is ideal for a salesperson who:

You will step into a strong manufacturing platform with proven capabilities and leadership support, but you will build your own pipeline.

What You Will Do

• Prospect and develop new OEM relationships in targeted industries
• Sell precision machining and contract manufacturing capabilities
• Work directly with engineers and purchasing teams to quote and win complex work
• Manage opportunities from initial contact through long-term production partnership
• Spend significant time in the field visiting customers and prospects
• Collaborate closely with internal teams on quoting, feasibility, and execution
• Represent the company professionally and credibly in the market

This is a true field sales role, not an inside or transactional position.

What Our Client Is Looking For

Required

• Proven success in B2B outside sales within manufacturing or technical environments
• Experience selling contract manufacturing, precision machining, or custom technical solutions
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and manufacturing requirements
• Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills
• High personal accountability and self-direction
• Willingness to be on-site when not visiting customers

Preferred

• Experience selling into medical, aerospace, or defense OEMs
• Familiarity with precision machining, turned parts, or 5-axis environments
• Existing OEM relationships within targeted industries
• Comfort operating without heavy structure or rigid scripts

Location & Work Style

• Based in the Chicago metro area
• Expected to be on-site full time initially to learn the business
• Increased field time as ramp progresses
• This is not a remote role

Compensation

• Base salary approximately $100,000–$125,000, with bonus
• Ramp support provided due to long sales cycles
• Performance-based upside as the role matures
