What we're looking for:

• Strong experience in related fields such as recommendation systems and applied machine learning experience is required. Natural language processing and computer vision is a bonus.

Production Engineering at Pinterest is an evolution of our Site Reliability Engineering organization blending a hybrid of systems and software engineering with a focus on scaling, resiliency, reliability, performance, and efficiency. Sr. Engineering Manager, AI/ML Serving Platform

The AI/ML Serving Platform team provides foundational tools and infrastructure used by hundreds of AI/ML engineers across Pinterest, including recommendations, ads, visual search, growth/notifications, trust and safety. We aim to ensure that AI/ML systems are efficient, healthy (production-grade quality) and fast (for modelers to iterate upon).

Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the team that builds the serving and deployment infrastructure for all AI/ML models at Pinterest. Systems include:

• 
  
• Ultra-high-performance C++ model inference engine for production recommendations and content ranking systems. TorchScript + CUDA Graph models on GPU inference, serving 500+M inferences/second.
  
• Production GenAI & LLM model inference stack for emerging use cases.
  
• Model routing, deployment, monitoring. Kubernetes-based provisioning.
  
• Feature fetching, caching, and logging
  

What you'll do

• 
  
• Lead the team to deliver continual improvements in advanced model architectures, cost-efficient resource utilization, and AI/ML developer productivity.
  
• Set technical direction for the team based on company and org priorities
  
• Coach and develop talent on the team.
  

What we're looking for:

• 
  
• Experience managing platform engineering teams with many cross-organizational customers
  
• Experience leading the development of large-scale distributed serving systems
  
• Experience with AI/ML inference technologies (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow) for online serving at Web scale
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.

We're seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the next generation of Pinterest's big data storage platform. You'll grow and guide a team working with cutting-edge open source technologies-especially Apache Iceberg-operating at exabyte scale to power the data that helps Pinners discover and do what they love.

What you'll do:

• Own the technical vision and long-term roadmap of Pinterest's exabyte data lake storage
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams across the organization to architect data lake storage and metadata management technologies to unlock big data and ML/AI innovations
  
• Drive engagement and collaboration with open source communities, such as Iceberg, Spark, and Flink, to effectively address our scaling challenges
  
• Act as a stalwart of technical quality and excellence on the team, ensuring the solutions we deliver have a high level of polish and reliability
  

What we're looking for:

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  
• 2+ years of management experience, or 3+ years tech lead experience in a 5+ person team
  
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in leading the design of large scale & production distributed systems.
  
• Deep knowledge with building distributed systems.
  
• Strong cross-functional collaborator and communicator.
  
• Strong people development skills.
