DIRECTOR OF NURSING POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Nursing (DON) is a supervisory nursing position who works in a correctional setting in which nursing services are required on a 24-hour basis. The DON supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing personnel in one or more patient care units. The DON verifies that patients’ needs are met and evaluates nursing care and patient care unit performance. They participate in the planning of work for assigned units and coordinate activities with other patient units/departments. The DON plans and organizes training for staff members and works in partnership with the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) if applicable, Health Services Administrator (HSA), and Regional Leadership to fulfill contractual requirements and achieve operational and clinical performance targets.


DIRECTOR OF NURSING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School required. Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in nursing preferred
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the State, board-certified or board-eligible in medicine, and has training and experience providing services to an adult population

DIRECTOR OF NURSING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Utilizes a systematic approach to meet the health needs of each individual patient

The Executive Director of Nursing (EDON) is a registered professional nurse who provides leadership and management for five (5) to twenty (20) cost centers for a specific service line through the application of advanced competencies in communication; job knowledge, professionalism and business skills. This executive is a member of the chief nursing officer's or AVP Nursing's administrative team and serves as their designee for assigned responsibilities. The Executive Director of Nursing provides direct leadership for a group of nurse managers/directors or departments and who comprise their specialty service line. He/she is a standard bearer and holds leaders and staff accountable for the delivery of safe, quality care and services through effective communication, fiscal accountability, and employment of transformational leadership., instilling an accountability-based practice setting. The executive director of nursing serves as sponsor for performance improvement; inspires others to seek opportunities to grow and improve their performance and successful applies lean and evidenced based practice to ensure all targets pillar outcomes are achieved. Job Summary

- The Cardiac Sonographer functions under the direction of the Manager or Lead/Chief Sonographer and is responsible for performing all cardiac imaging; which includes, if performed at your designated facility, adult, pediatric, transesophageal (including structural heart) and stress echocardiograms.
- Performs measurements and calculations according to laboratory protocol, provides an oral summary of preliminary findings to the interpreting Physician, if requested, is responsible for the safety and well-being of all patients in the Echo department, must possess the ability to communicate effectively with the patient(s) and health care team.
- The Cardiac Sonographer may also be asked to inject/administer Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEA) as well as saline bubble studies.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a SIU Investigator (mid-level). This is a Desk position. Within defined guidelines and framework, protects USAA and our members from potential fraudulent claims by investigating questionable, suspect claims activity in compliance with state insurance fraud-related laws and regulations and policies and procedures. The selected candidate will have a strong multi-line SIU investigation background.

This position is remote eligible. However, you must currently live in California.

What you'll do:

  • Applies knowledge and understanding of fraud schemes and investigation strategies on any questionable or suspect first or third part claims.

  • Participates in the development of fraud prevention strategies.

  • Applies knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, and processes in investigating claims to include P&C insurance policy contracts, coverages and internal claims handling process and procedures.

  • Applies knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to insurance fraud in investigating claims.

  • Collects evidence of potential fraud through field or remote interviews and thorough searches of investigative databases, internal resources, Internet resources, public records, and forensic tools.

  • Makes recommendations within defined authority guidelines.

  • Prepares and presents detailed and comprehensive verbal and written investigative reports summarizing the results of the investigation and recommended outcome.

  • Develops and maintains external relationships with industry, law enforcement and other contacts involved in fraud investigation, detection, and prevention.

  • May serve as a resource team member on specific matters through demonstrated skill or training.

  • Assists with the delivery of fraud awareness training initiatives in a defined environment.

  • Handles CAT duty responsibilities as business requires.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

  • 2+ years claims adjusting experience, or P&C SIU/Fraud Investigation experience OR 4+ years prior investigative law enforcement (to include military) or relevant fraud industry investigation experience.

  • Proven investigatory skills.

  • Experience obtaining statements from various parties to incidents, witnesses, and suspects.

  • Ability to gather broad range of evidence and draw conclusions based on the objective details related to the applicability of fraud.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload, performing multiple tasks and devising solutions to problems.

  • Familiarity with using computers and various software packages to enter and extract data for analysis from relevant data sources and systems.

  • Knowledge of city, state and local regulations, legal concepts, understanding of contracts, case law, medical treatment, and medical terminology.

The Opportunity

The Associate Life Solutions Specialist helps to ensure the financial security of our membership by assessing member life insurance needs, providing advice and / or referrals for advice, and making the appropriate recommendations based on members’ individual needs and goals. What you'll do:

  • Receives request for advice from current and prospective members through various channels, including inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, faxes and video telephony. Special Acquisitions Team employees will primarily place outbound calls triggered from underwriting work items. Life Regulatory team employees respond to specific regulatory/business needs as directed by policies and procedures.

  • Asks questions to discover key information, including life events, and to understand member needs. Documents relevant information. Life Regulatory team employees ask specific questions, often scripted, as needed to complete regulatory requirements and document relevant information.
