Primary Focus:
- To oversee the design for Liquids Pump station facilities for expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by third party engineering firms to ensure compliance with Company standards and specifications and industry standards and managed to the project budget and schedule.
- Liaison with other company functional groups within Project Execution, Operations, and Shared Services to ensure project and company requirements are achieved and incorporated into the design deliverables.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Ensures that all pump station facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes, and corporate standards.
- Defines the scope, schedule, and budget for the design and materials for pump station facility projects.
- Manages the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.
- Reviews and approves design deliverables, for example, drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets.
- Participates in design review meetings with the engineering firm, the Project Manager, Operations, and Construction personnel to discuss the scope, design, and expected performance, as well as work out constructability issues.
- Reviews vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends selections based on technical merit, along with price and delivery. For example: pump and motor equipment, vessels, buildings, generators, pipe, valves, and fittings.
- Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs.
- Actively identifies and communicates new lessons learned and quality incidents for assigned projects.
- Support department initiatives as required.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing manufacturing engineering support to product design, product improvement, cost reduction and daily operations as assigned; providing the machines, tooling and processes necessary for that support; and for providing timely coordinated implementation of short- and long-term goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Evaluates and improves upon existing manufacturing processes. Assists supervisors and production team members in resolving manufacturing process problems.
- Produce and maintain support documentation to control processes and costs while maintaining quality. Includes: Manufacturing processes, time studies, CNC programming, tooling, tool design, machinery or related equipment as needed.
- Plans and implements process engineering activities for new product development and current product support. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

About the Job
BCEI operates as the primary contractor and lead designer for all construction aspects of the project. We work closely with targeted General, MEP, and Low Voltage contractors to deliver large-scale projects to our clients. The Preconstruction Manager leads the front-end planning, cost development, and technical coordination of large-scale projects in North America. This role is responsible for conceptual budgeting through GMP development, value engineering, risk analysis, and client-facing cost strategy on hyperscale and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate has deep experience estimating MEP-intensive facilities, high-voltage power systems, or mission-critical environments where schedule certainty, redundancy, and scalability are paramount. Applicants with experience in these areas will be prioritized but all applicants with relevant experience will be considered. You will collaborate directly with Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and 3rd Party consultants to create defined project estimates, bid packages, and milestone schedules to ensure the successful delivery of our power generation facilities. The Senior Automation & Controls Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of automated equipment and control systems. This role combines strong technical expertise in PLC-based automation, electrical and pneumatic systems, equipment validation, and project leadership within regulated manufacturing environments, preferably in the medical device industry.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
- Lead and manage electrical and control system projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
- Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Keyence, Beckhoff, Schneider).
- Develop and implement HMI/SCADA applications (FactoryTalk View, Aveva Edge, Ignition, TIA Portal, etc.).
- Integrate VFDs, servo systems, motion control, robots (e.g., Mitsubishi), and machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, DataMan).
- Participate in the design and implementation of new automated equipment and capacity expansion projects.
- Execute and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), User Acceptance Tests (UAT/BUAT), and internal testing activities.
- Lead and support equipment validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) in compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 standards.
- Ensure proper integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), when applicable.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, electrical schematics, panel layouts, validation protocols, and reports.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and control systems.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Maintenance, and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership, delegate tasks effectively, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements in regulated manufacturing environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
- Strong expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens; others desirable).
- Advanced knowledge of electrical controls, schematics, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with servo systems, VFDs, motion control, and robotics integration.
- Experience in executing FAT, UAT, and equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in automation and manufacturing systems.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
- Availability to work on a 2–3 month fixed-term contract.
- Authorized to work in the location where the position is posted. Be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid TN Visa.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong project planning, budgeting, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience in warehouse automation, material handling, or the post/parcel sector.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Serial).
- 3+ years of experience in regulated environments (medical device preferred).
- Experience with MES/WCS integration.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO 13485.
