Perform the duties of the surgical PA2.
Provide surgical assistance in the operating room as assigned by the PA Coordinator/designee.
Perform daily post-operative rounds and follow-up with the attending surgeon.
Perform admission history and physical examinations, daily progress notes, daily orders, and discharge summaries for patients admitted to them by the attending surgeon.
Evaluate patients in the Emergency Center and on the surgical floor at the request of the attending surgeon.3.
The PA will write history and physical exams, orders, daily progress notes, and facilitate/coordinate care of the patient as requested by the supervising physician.
The PA may dictate discharge, transfer and death summaries, and write transfer orders and prescriptions as requested by the supervising physician.4.
Perform bedside procedures including central venous catheter placement, tube thoracostomy, arterial catheter placement and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) when credentialed to perform said procedures.5.
Support Quality initiatives of Holy Cross Hospital including medication reconciliation, universal time out procedures, SCIP, VTE prevention, and electronic documentation6.
