I hope you're doing well! We have an interesting, brand new Business Systems Analyst / Strategist working for a well-known company in Monrovia, CA. This role works in the company's IT Applications and Development group and will be playing a critical role in translating challenges into data-driven products.
In this role, the individual will be partnering closely with SMEs, business stakeholders, and Engineering teams to design, implement, and operate scalable data products for internal use using the Palantir Foundry platform. Palantir Foundry experience is highly preferred, but we will also consider individuals who have worked in other platforms including Databricks, DataWalk, Snowflake, Alteryx, etc.

Our team in the Elowitz Lab at Caltech/HHMI is engineering therapeutic protein circuits, a new cancer-treatment modality at the intersection of synthetic biology and oncology. We’re looking for an in vivo oncology scientist (Senior Research Assistant to Senior Associate Scientist) to help expand and run the program’s translational in vivo engine. The role starts in an academic setting, with the option to transition into an early-stage startup in 2027.
Why therapeutic circuits?
Cancer therapies face a fundamental trade-off between effectiveness and precision, driving off-target toxicity, recurrence, and resistance. Therapeutic protein circuits address this by directly rewiring oncogenic mutations to cell death. Delivered as mRNA in lipid nanoparticles, these engineered proteins can distinguish cancer from normal cells and have shown tumor suppression in vivo. By design, these circuits “sense and kill” rather than inhibit. This mechanism makes them independent of oncogene addiction and less susceptible to resistance than most targeted therapies, potentially enabling a new generation of highly potent and specific cancer medicines.

Surface Warfare Officers (SWOs) are involved in virtually every aspect of Navy missions. As a SWO, you may be in charge of any number of shipboard operations and activities while at sea, working with or within any of these specialized forces:
Aircraft Carrier Forces: Provide and coordinate air, submarine and surface ship defense for aircraft carriers.
Cruiser-Destroyer Forces: Provide ship attack and defensive measures with a wide array of missile and fire power capabilities, providing anti-air, -submarine and -surface warfare support.
Amphibious Forces: Embark and transport vehicles, equipment and personnel for amphibious assault operations.
Combat-Logistics Forces: Provide combatant ships with fuel, ammunition, food and supplies, and provide repair, maintenance and rescue capabilities through Fleet Support Ships.
Mine Warfare Forces: Detect, identify and neutralize threats from hostile use of maritime mines.

Work Environment
As a Surface Warfare Officer, you will work at sea and on shore, in a variety of environments. Sea duty could place you aboard ships within the fleet. Shore duty may involve a tour of duty at the Pentagon, a student assignment at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, or command and management positions at shore bases and stations around the world.
Training & Advancement
Those pursuing an Information Professional Officer position are required to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI.
Unless they have already been commissioned through the Naval Academy or ROTC, those pursuing a Surface Warfare Officer position are required to attend Officer Candidate School. Newly commissioned SWOs can expect an advanced training process that includes comprehensive training at sea and ashore.
Newly commissioned Surface Warfare Officers will be assigned to a surface ship, leading a team of Sailors responsible for a component of the ship - anything from electronics to weapons to engineering systems. In this setting, Officers are working toward full Surface Warfare qualification.
After completing these initial sea tours, Surface Warfare Officers may be selected to serve on high-level staffs, commands or strategic projects or they may be selected to work in recruitment. The ultimate goal for many: to one day command their own ship.
Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.

Qualifications & Requirements
A degree from a four-year college or university is a minimum educational requirement to become a Commissioned Officer.
There are different ways to become a SWO. If you're a high school student or an undergraduate, you can enter through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) or through the U.S. Naval Academy. Those already having a degree attend Officer Candidate School (OCS), a 12-week Navy school in Newport, RI.
All candidates must also be U.S. Citizens.
General qualifications may vary depending upon whether you're currently serving, whether you've served before or whether you've never served before.
Part-Time Opportunities
There are part-time opportunities available as a Surface Warfare Officer.
Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Surface Warfare Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, Surface Warfare Officers may serve anywhere in the world, whether on a ship at sea or at bases and installations on shore.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent of that.

What you will own
Technical delivery (DD → CD → CA)
- Lead project documentation from design development through construction administration
- Produce coordinated, code-aligned drawing sets with clear constructability
Revit production & standards
- Drive Revit modeling + documentation workflows (production and coordination)
- Maintain organized models, sheets, details, and standards across deliverables
Consultant coordination
- Coordinate engineering/consultant inputs into a cohesive CD set
- Track issues, close loops, and prevent coordination drift
Plan check + corrections
- Respond to plan check comments and manage corrections with urgency and accuracy
Team coordination
- Delegate tasks clearly, support production flow, and keep internal deliverables on track
Construction administration support
- Support CA items such as RFIs/submittals/site documentation and technical issue resolution
Must-have requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- Active California architectural license (required)
- 12+ years of professional experience
- Advanced Revit capability (design + production)
- Strong organization/time management across multiple projects and phases
- Plan check correction experience
- Consultant coordination experience (engineering + integrated set delivery)
- Contract familiarity

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma (DMAIC), and digital transformation initiatives

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering or continuous improvement experience
- Strong knowledge of Lean (5S, VSM, SMED, Poka-Yoke, Visual Management) and Six Sigma (DMAIC)
- Proven record of measurable operational improvements
- Experience developing Standard Work and operator-level training
- Familiarity with shop floor digital tools and ERP systems

About the Role
As a Project Sales Consultant, you will serve as the technical expert during on-site client consultations. You will evaluate project conditions, identify scope requirements, provide accurate pricing using established company formulas, and communicate findings to the internal team for proposal development.
This role is field-driven and relationship-focused, combining technical construction knowledge with consultative sales execution. All appointments are pre-qualified and scheduled by the office—no cold calling or lead generation required.
Responsibilities
Client & Project Consultation
- Conduct on-site client appointments across assigned territory
- Diagnose structural, masonry, and concrete project needs with full technical accuracy
- Build client trust by clearly explaining scope, solutions, and expectations
- Perform secondary walkthroughs and return site visits as needed for high-value projects
Pricing & Technical Evaluation
- Calculate project pricing using established company formulas and guidelines
- Review drawings, site conditions, and project constraints to ensure accurate scoping
- Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and value-driven solutions
Communication & Documentation
- Record detailed job notes, videos, and findings following each site visit
- Communicate project details clearly to internal estimating and operations teams
- Support office staff with technical clarifications during proposal and contract stages
Follow-Up & Relationship Support
- Conduct personal follow-ups for priority, high-value, or complex projects
- Participate in virtual consultations as needed
- Deliver samples and attend return visits on designated follow-up days
Performance & Revenue
- Consistently close pre-qualified opportunities assigned by the office
- Maintain strong close ratios on high-likelihood projects
- Support sustained monthly revenue targets through accurate scoping and client trust

Qualifications:
Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience in masonry, concrete, or structural construction
- Strong field background with exposure to:
- Concrete, block, brick, stone, precast
- Drainage, grading, waterproofing
- Stucco, tile, and related systems
- Blueprint and plan reading
- Backgrounds that perform best include:
- Former superintendent or project manager with deep field experience
