Role Description:
The purpose of a Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS or Medical Scribe) at Oak Street Health is to support our primary care providers with clinical documentation so that they can focus on providing exceptional care to our patients. Scribes assist providers throughout the patient care journey - huddling each morning to plan for the day's visits, joining them in the exam room to observe and document, and touching base after the visit to assist with next steps.
Beyond the typical Scribe role, these important care team members serve as clinical documentation assistants to their paired provider. Internally, we call them CISs (Clinic Informatics Specialists) in recognition of their important role in supporting accurate, specific, and timely clinical documentation. In addition to observing and documenting all patient encounters in real time, our Scribes become experts in our value-based care model and the documentation and care of chronic conditions, including ICD-10 and CPT coding. Scribes use this expertise to help providers identify and help close care gaps. Scribes receive extensive on-the-job training in clinical workflows, value-based medicine, preventative care for chronic conditions, accurate and specific documentation, population health data streams, and team based care.
Because our patients and providers rely on our Scribes, the ideal candidate should commit at least 1-2 years to this role. - Grow and maintain strategic relationships with architects, engineers, lighting designers, and other project specifiers to influence product selection early in the design cycle.
- Deliver engaging and technically sound presentations, both virtually and in-person, that align with customer needs and showcase the latest advancements in lighting systems.
- Proactively develop and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, leading specification efforts from conceptual stages through quote and final order.
- Stay ahead of lighting trends and emerging technologies, becoming a trusted advisor and resource to both internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, design teams, and manufacturer partners to deliver tailored lighting solutions that exceed client expectations.
- Own the sales process end-to-end, from initial engagement to quote support, technical advising, and post-sale follow-through.
- Promote a culture of excellence and teamwork, contributing to knowledge sharing and a strong client-first service model.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in lighting specification sales or adjacent roles in the lighting, electrical, or construction industries.
- Proven track record of success working with architectural and engineering firms to drive project-based sales.
- Bachelor’s degree or LC certification preferred.
- Proficient in lighting design platforms and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, AGi32).
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a consultative sales approach.
- Skilled in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly for in-person meetings and presentations.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job • As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role.
The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening (to include criminal checks, past employment and education), the ability to pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation, and potential travel within a near geography for training are required This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
