What you will be doing:
- Act as the Technical Authority - Specify Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and make technical decisions in relation to the area of accountability and chair the Control Authority(s) governing change for area of accountability, subject to appropriate delegation.
- Own foundry process capability standards, qualification strategies, and revalidation plans.
- Quality - Promote a culture of zero defects within the area of accountability and ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within the business and suppliers are developed and deployed to support Right First-Time manufacture; coaching the community in the use of RRPS, RCCA and Systems Engineering tools
- Ensure robust, capable investment casting processes including wax pattern production, grain control, solidification, and defect mitigation.
- Lead technical strategy for single crystal yield improvement, defect reduction and process robustness.
- Partner with Materials, Quality, and Design Engineering to align casting process capability with design intent and material requirements.
- Improvements - Identify, evaluate, and govern the requirements for improvements and innovations in manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within their area of accountability.
- Deploy capability - Maintain and/or govern Production Technical Packages (technical instructions, programs, tooling, etc.) for all parts/assemblies which clearly define the manufacturing process whilst ensuring manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture within the business and suppliers are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead-time.
- Product Safety - Responsible for ensuring that product safety risks are understood and mitigated to meet the required safety levels and reduce the safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable and champion product safety and promote a product safety culture in the supply chain, ensuring learning related to product safety is embedded.
- Drive measurable improvements in foundry performance including yield, scrap, CoNQ, throughput, takt adherence, and lead time.
- Identify, evaluate, and govern investments in process improvements, automation, digital tools, and technology insertion.
- Translate technical improvements into sustained operational results through standardization and control.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers, building depth in investment casting and single crystal expertise.
- Set clear expectations linking technical rigor to operational outcomes.
- Act as a mentor and role model for disciplined problem solving, accountability, and continuous improvement.

JOB SUMMARY
The QA/QE Engineer supports Quality Assurance and Engineering functions in an aerospace and medical device manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a developing engineer ready to grow in root cause analysis, continuous improvement, CAPA, risk management, and process/test method validation. Under the guidance of the Quality and Regulatory Manager, this role supports shop floor operations while collaborating with engineering to improve processes and compliance to industrial/regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILTIES
RQuality Assurance & Inspection
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using hand tools, gauges, and visual inspection equipment (Smartscope/OGP/Keyence).
- Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements (GD&T).
- Create and maintain inspection records, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and quality documentation.
- Identify nonconformances (NCMRs) and support MRB disposition and rework documentation.
- Prepare records for internal, customer, and regulatory audits (FDA, FAA, AS9100/ISO13485).
Quality Engineering & Compliance
- Assist in developing Control Plans, PFMEAs, and basic DFMEA support.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102, including dimensional layouts.
- Support CAPA data collection, root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D, Is/Is Not), and continuous improvement.
- Assist with process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and Test Method validations (Gage R&R, MSA).
- Support QMS maintenance in compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
- Draft and revise SOPs, work instructions, and quality forms with cross-functional teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience with with calipers, micrometers, indicators, pin gauges, and other precision Measurement Test and Equipment (MT&E).

- Properly select, align and secure work holding. Must be able to improvise setups using common tooling such as risers, angle plates etc.
- Monitor and/or develop speed, feed, depth or angle of cut during machining operations.
- Must observe machine operation to predict or detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining conditions and adjust machine controls /control media as required.
- Verify that all machined details meet print and router specifications, using precision measuring instruments and recording data results. Responsible to ensure first piece inspection is completed for multiple piece runs.
- Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness of machine and work area on a daily basis.

Press Brake Team Lead (Senior Operator)PRESS BRAKE TEAM LEADGeneral Devices is seeking a highly skilled Press Brake Team Lead to oversee press brake operations and support continuous improvement in our sheet metal fabrication department. This position is ideal for an experienced operator who can independently set up complex jobs, mentor team members, and help drive efficiency and quality. Hours: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, Overtime availablePay Range: $30 $35 per hour depending on experience. What You Will Do
- Independently program set up and operate Accupress and Bystronic press brakes for complex jobs.
- Select tooling, install dies, and configure machines for accurate bends and repeatable production.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to produce precision sheet metal components.
- Work with engineering to develop blanks and program machines for new parts.
- Program or optimize setups for multi-bend parts and complex geometries.
- Train and assist other press brake operators and entry-level team members.
- Review setup sheets and recommend improvements to processes and tooling.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting forming problems and resolving production issues.
- Support cross-training and assist in other fabrication areas as needed.
- 5+ years press brake experience, including full machine setup.
- Experience with Accupress and/or Bystronic press brakes strongly preferred.
- Strong blueprint reading and (GD&T basic familiarity a plus)
- Ability to determine bend allowances, tonnage, and proper tooling selection.
- Proven ability to train and mentor operators.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Arm and hand mobility required for machine operation.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds intermittently.

- The facility is connected to specialists in heart care, brain and spine care, neurosurgery, orthopedic care, pediatric care, maternity care, cancer care, GI care, weight management, and more.
Ascension St. Vincent Castleton Emergency Department – Indianapolis, Illinois
- Part of Ascension, a national, non-profit health system comprised of more than 2,600 sites of care in 19 sites and the District of Columbia and one of the four St. Vincent Neighborhood micro-hospitals.
- Emergency department with advanced specialty services, 24/7 emergency care, and an annual volume of 11,000.
- The facility is a destination for specialty care - including heart, cancer, stroke care, orthopedics and women's health.
- A wide range of minimally invasive procedures are also offered, including the use of robotic-assisted technology, imaging and lab tests, and a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation center, all on one campus.
Ascension St. Vincent Plainfield – Plainfield, Indiana
