Compensation and Benefits

Carle Health is seeking Pediatric Audiologist to join the Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities (ECHO) program in Urbana, Illinois. The ECHO team includes professionals in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology, deaf education, and Otolaryngology, who work together to support children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families. ECHO encompasses two programs; the Pediatric Hearing Center and the Carle Auditory Oral School.
Opportunity Details
- The ECHO program is unique in that it offers comprehensive services for children who are deaf and hard of hearing in a single, dedicated location. Founded in 1987, the ECHO program was the first cochlear implant program offered in the state of Illinois and has played a fundamental role in the field of pediatric hearing care
- Our Pediatric Audiologists provide a full range of comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation services, including diagnostic assessment, ABR testing, hearing aid and BAHS fitting, cochlear implant evaluation and programming, and CAPD assessment.
- Join a collegial team with 4 Audiologists, 7 Speech and Language Pathologists, 2 ENT Physicians, and an Advanced Practice Provider
- Participation in interdisciplinary ECHO team meetings
- Assist with provision of educational and community outreach
- Caseload depends on clinical skills, experience, and interest
- Supervision, instruction, and evaluation of Audiology graduate students

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $35.22per hour - $60.58per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. - $10,000 sign-on bonus and

Responsibilities
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solution. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Ensures good communication with patients/family by utilizing meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report and whiteboards Works with critical care team for ICU lite patients Works with hospitalists for Advanced Care patients

Monitors patient's condition while undergoing treatment, recognizing signs of treatment complications and alerting the physician or nurse if needed.
Explain procedure to patient, means of communication during treatment, and procedure to follow if emergency arises during treatment. Reinforce Radiation Oncologist's advice to patient regarding reactions to treatment and their care.
Department Specific Job Function
Perform quality assurance checks on all treatment plans prior to treatment.
Perform image fusion daily on patients treatment (when applicable), verifying the planned treatment field matches the area of interest for treatment.
Perform custom immobilization, through fabrication of patient specific immobilization devices, to accurately align patients for daily radiation therapy.
Follow principles of Radiation protection for patient, self, and others.
Conduct daily Quality Assurance checks on Radiation delivery equipment.
