Fabrication Engineer Job Description: Formative 3D is a 3D-printing startup on a mission to change the built environment.
By leveraging large-format and FDM additive manufacturing, we’re building modular, component-based systems that are sustainable and scalable.
As we launch our new production facility, we’re looking for passionate and dependable, hands-on team members to help us produce our first project and grow the business.
This role is a hands-on technical leader who bridges digital design and physical fabrication.
You’ll support production by refining CAD models for manufacturability, programming CNC equipment, and performing fabrication and carpentry tasks to assemble modular components.
You’ll work closely with the Director of Operations, Production Manager, and technicians to ensure designs are translated into high-quality, buildable products.
Effective the beginning of March 2026, this role will transition from HITT to Formative 3D.

Fabrication Engineer Job Description: Formative 3D is a 3D-printing startup on a mission to change the built environment.
By leveraging large-format and FDM additive manufacturing, we’re building modular, component-based systems that are sustainable and scalable.
As we launch our new production facility, we’re looking for passionate and dependable, hands-on team members to help us produce our first project and grow the business.
This role is a hands-on technical leader who bridges digital design and physical fabrication.
You’ll support production by refining CAD models for manufacturability, programming CNC equipment, and performing fabrication and carpentry tasks to assemble modular components.
