JOB SUMMARY

As a Toolmaker III, you play a critical role in developing and optimizing advanced tooling solutions for manufacturing processes. Leveraging your extensive experience and expertise as a toolmaker, you are responsible for designing, fabricating, manufacturing, and maintaining complex tools, dies, molds, and fixtures. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance, and leading projects to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify tooling requirements and constraints.
  • Utilizes advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to help create intricate 2D and 3D models of tooling components, ensuring optimal design and manufacturability.
  • Directs the Toolmaker Is and IIs on daily tasks.
  • Operates various precision machine tools, including CNC machines, EDM machines, grinders, and lathes, to fabricate and modify complex tooling components.
  • Conducts thorough inspections and dimensional checks using advanced metrology equipment to ensure the accuracy and quality of finished tooling components.
  • Assembles, fits, and tests intricate tooling components, verifying functionality, performance, and conformance to specifications.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in developing and optimizing tooling designs, collaborating with engineers, production personnel, and quality assurance teams to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex tooling-related issues, utilizing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to improve performance and reliability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in California is between $147,000 - $250,000 and in New York is $147,000 - $250,000. We are looking for an experienced leader in experimentation methodology to join our core Applied ML team. The Applied AI and Machine Learning team handles large-scale data to support many business areas. We develop a cohesive navigation experience across channels and web pages. Our goal is to simplify and improve the shopping experience for everyday entrepreneurs worldwide, helping them quickly find what they need on our website.

In this leadership role, you will enhance the strategic direction of our experimentation methodology efforts. You will use simulations and reinforcement learning, ensuring consistency with business objectives, and supporting cross-functional teams in data-informed experimentation solutions. You will guide teams working at the intersection of large-scale foundation models, multi-agent systems, and RL-based optimization, encouraging a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

  • Define and drive the strategic roadmap for AI driven experimentation methodology, aligning initiatives with organizational goals and business impact
  • Supervise and mentor teams of scientists and engineers, providing technical guidance and career development
  • Promote meticulous experimentation, including the development of simulation environments and robust evaluation frameworks using machine learning and RL
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate research outcomes into scalable, production-ready experimentation solutions

Your experience should include...

  • 3+ years of professional experience managing and leading high-performing teams, including mentoring and coaching team member to achieve organizational goals
  • 5+ years of professional experience in experimentation methodology, Reinforcement Learning, and software development 
  • 2 + years of professional with experimentation platforms, data pipelines, and analytical tools to guide methodological rigor
  • A deep understanding of statistical principles, causal inference, and experimental design for large-scale digital products
  • A track record of partnering effectively with experimentation platform teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making
  • 5+ years of professional experience translating complex statistical concepts into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
  • The ability to define and implement a vision for experimentation best practices across diverse product areas
