Architectural Plan Reviewer and Code Inspector

The Work: As an Architectural Plan Reviewer and Code Inspector for our government-aligned team, you will be primarily focused on performing code enforcement reviews and inspections.
In this role you will demonstrate your expertise in interpreting and enforcing construction codes, standards, and regulations specific to government construction projects.

Key Responsibilities: · Conduct comprehensive code enforcement reviews, inspections, and plan reviews for architectural and accessibility compliance.
· Review construction feasibility and code compliance, provide comments, and ensure sustainability and reliability.
· Address complaints, violations, disputes, and maintain accurate records of code violations and actions taken.
· Document all deficiencies and prepare detailed reports of observations and enforcement actions with associated code references.
· Maintain a record of observed deficiencies and actions taken and provide weekly briefings on status.
· Interpret, explain, and enforce provisions of the construction codes, standards, and regulations to clients, contractors, architects, and engineers.
· Conduct pre-construction site walks to identify architectural and accessibility issues during scope development and document findings.
· Perform as-built / redline document reviews to verify changes and ensure accuracy.
· Assist in code development and implementation and provide technical advice to ensure building projects comply with the necessary codes.
· Prepare estimates of extra work as applicable and prepare related sketches and documentation as required.
· Witness and document code compliance tests for various systems.
Identify and record any non-compliance issues during testing.
· Coordinate with other inspectors, code enforcement officials, contractors, and participate in necessary meetings.
· Travel to facilities for meetings, site walks, inspections, and commissioning activities.
· Provide design support, investigate accessibility complaints, and support accessibility task forces under the direction of the government’s Building Code Official (BCO).
· Develop creative and innovative solutions to achieve goals and anticipate client needs.
· Support government construction projects through diligent and proactive service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications: · Must have a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or architectural engineering from an NAAB or ABET-accredited university or college and at least 10 years of experience with the International Building Code and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) / Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) accessibility standards.
· Must have at least 5 years of experience managing people.
· Requires extensive experience conducting architectural plans reviews, including accessibility-related reviews.
· Must have a comprehensive knowledge of various codes and standards, including ICC I-codes, NFPA codes, ABA Accessibility Standards, ASHRAE Standards, ASME Standards, and ANSI Standards.

The Work: As a Building Automation System (BAS) Specialist , you will act as an Owner’s Representative to our DoD customer.
In this role you will review the work of other BAS contractors providing QA/QC support, while also providing BAS expertise and opinions to the customer directly.

Opportunity
Skybound is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Systems Designer to help build a thrilling new game franchise. The Senior Systems Designers create rewarding loops that help players set goals, progress, and stay engaged over multiple play sessions. They craft and tune player advancement and rewards across the entire game.
You will collaborate closely with the Game Director, department leads, and cross-disciplinary teams to define and drive the strategic vision for player progression and meta systems. You’ll mentor other designers, establish best practices, and ensure the systems design team delivers high-quality, scalable solutions that support both gameplay and business goals.

Reports: This position will report to Game Director.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the vision and execution of player progression, meta systems, and engagement loops across single and multiplayer experiences.
- Define and drive KPIs for progression systems that align with player satisfaction and business goals.
- Mentor and guide systems designers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Own major feature areas from concept through implementation, ensuring quality and consistency across the game.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, art, UX, and production to ensure systems are well-integrated and technically feasible.
- Establish and evangelize best practices for systems design, documentation, and tool usage.
- Anticipate and resolve design challenges, proactively improving workflows and pipelines.
- Playtest and iterate on systems regularly, using data and player feedback to refine and optimize.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the games industry, with a focus on systems design and progression.
- Proven leadership experience, including mentoring designers and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Shipped at least one AAA title with significant ownership of progression or meta systems.
- Deep understanding of player psychology, engagement strategies, and content pacing.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex systems into clear, actionable designs.
- Experience collaborating with engineering on tool development and pipeline optimization.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with fluency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
- Strategic mindset, balancing creative vision with technical and business constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal Engine, including scripting and integration into production pipelines.
- Strong technical scripting skills and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
- Passion for combat-oriented games, player progression, and Skybound’s unique properties.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000
