Profitable, leading machining manufacturer with a diverse business mix is hiring a Machining Engineering Manager (Swiss) to lead the engineering and skilled trades team in a premier, competitive, cutting edge technology Swiss CNC machining environment. The Machining Engineering Manager (Swiss) will report to a Sr. Engineering Manager to support machining and other processes. Responsibilities will include:



  • Coach, mentor and develop a team of engineers and skilled trades professionals
  • Supply Swiss CNC machining expertise to the staff and facility
  • Participate in weekly quoting meetings to determine fit and manufacturability for Swiss CNC engineering projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, as well as GD&T
  • Assign CNC machining jobs to staff and monitor timely completion
  • Provide status updates to operations, sales and engineering teams
  • Initiate training to production associates for new and existing projects
  • Assist Swiss CNC team with troubleshooting programming and offering guidance
  • Partner with production when needed to troubleshoot process and manufacturability issues
  • Manager tooling and CapEx projects, including overseeing timelines and budgets
  • Complete cost justification, ROI analysis, and obtain quotes
  • Other duties as directed by engineering management



This is a leadership role that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 25% of their day and have the ability to wear many hats. Candidates should have strong Swiss CNC machining technical skills and the ability to coach and mentor others, support and foster a team-oriented environment and the desire to develop the staff. REQUIREMENTS for the Machining Engineering Manager (Swiss) :

1. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

2. Extensive Swiss CNC machining experience, at least 10 years total and 1-2 years in a lead engineering position

3. Swiss CNC programming experience, at least 2-3 years

4. Working knowledge of metrology tools, including calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.

5. Working knowledge of GD&T

6. The ability to read blueprints

7. Experience working in a QMS regulated environment, such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.

8. Microsoft Office



Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. Automated work environments, including robotic technologies

2. Mechanical aptitude

3. Quoting experience

4. SolidWorks and/or PartMaker CAM Software

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Dayton, OH area. There is a conservative relocation package available for regional candidates who meet all of the requirements.
