The Theranostics Center at Banner - University Medical Center and The University of Arizona - Tucson is designated as a Comprehensive Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence.

• Nuclear Medicine is offered at all 3 Tucson locations: BUMC-T, BUMC-S, and BUMC-N. Scanners include Siemens Bold and Intevo SPECT/CT’s, GE Discovery 640 SPECT/CT, Siemens Gamma Evo, two GE 530c’s for dedicated cardiac imaging, and a GE Discovery MI Digital PET/CT, GE Omni Legend 32 cm PET CT.
• The division offers a variety of studies including oncology, and advanced general nuclear medicine imaging such as brain metabolism/perfusion, myocardial perfusion and gating, bone, liver, lung, GI, sentinel lymph node, and Dopamine transporter imaging.

• The division offers Theranostic services including 131I, 223Ra, and 177Lu, for both FDA-approved PET tracers and research protocols. In addition, we offer 90Y liver ablation therapies in conjunction with IR.

Department Overview

The Department of Medical Imaging is one of 17 clinical departments in the UArizona College of Medicine – Tucson that provides medical care through Banner University Health. The clinical caseload serves as an excellent resource for our training programs, which includes both Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology Residencies, and multiple accredited fellowship training programs. Medical Imaging supports an ACGME accredited Nuclear Radiology/PET-CT Fellowship Program approved for 2 candidates.

Medical Imaging serves the two main hospitals, Banner University Medical Center – Tucson, BUMC-T (479 licensed beds) and Banner University Medical Center – South, BUMC-S (150 licensed beds), and the Diamond Children’s Medical Center, as well as two outpatient centers: Banner University Medicine-North, BUMC-N, and the Advanced Breast Imaging Center, ABIC.

Job Qualifications:

Prospective candidates, Assistant, Associate or full Professor (appointment rank is commensurate with experience), will have an MD or DO degree, and dedicated training in nuclear medicine including board certification by ABNM and/or ABR/NR with ABNM eligibility and is or eligible to become Authorized User of Radioisotopes. The candidate will be eligible for licensure in the State of Arizona.

The ideal applicant will have expertise in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging including different PET tracers, radiopharmaceutical therapies and procedures, both from clinical and scientific perspectives. Our Principal Embedded Real-Time Software Developer/Integrator is a technical position that works in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment to architect, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy Software for Firmware (FPGA) and Hardware solutions that meet current and next generation autonomous avionics systems’ needs. Working with a cross-discipline team, the candidate must have experience developing, testing, and integrating software for edge or embedded devices and/or subsystems (like telecom, medical, IoT, automotive, or robotics) where hardware operation, time critical function, functional reliability, mission assurance, and safety might be major concerns.

The successful candidate will work with Product Owners, Chief Engineers, Management and other IPT members using Lean and/or Agile practices to ensure that embedded software is designed and developed to reliably operate toward the intended functions.

The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test of all Raytheon products. As a Principal Test Systems Engineer, you are accountable to coordinate across all engineering teams to define, design, and document Test Environment capabilities and requirements.  You must be a systems thinker, able to see the “big picture”, and have the in-depth knowledge of development, production, User Operations, and embedded test process and practices.  As a Test Systems Engineer, you will define and influence how prime hardware will be tested at every level (from component to All-Up-Round) to ensure robustness and efficiency. The Surface Based Effector Production Department is searching for a Sr. Principal Guidance Section Systems Integrator role on a complex missile program that is critical for our national defense and has near unlimited growth potential.  The Systems Integrator role will work closely with all disciplines associated with missile production including Program Management, Chief Engineers, Quality, Supply Chain and Production Operations to ensure the technical integrity of our products is maintained and performs as intended every time.  The Systems Integrator’s broad knowledge base will be used to lead and/or support failure investigations, obsolescence redesigns, factory escapes, supplier issues and much more.  The ability to calmly but quickly review and analyze information, separate fact from fiction and make decisions and/or recommendations is critical in this role. The Systems Integrator also provides both technical guidance and supervision in meeting project commitments.  Allocating time to mentor newer engineers is also key to the success of the team and program.
