Job Title: Estimator

Work Location: College Station, TX

Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical layouts. This role requires strong drafting skills, a solid understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and reliable project costing.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and update budgetary and final cost estimates based on preliminary and conceptual design drawings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with engineering resources to address unique project requirements and assist in the costing process for specialized designs.
• Maintain and enhance proprietary estimating tools and databases, ensuring all cost data is current and organized for future reference.
• Conduct comparative analysis using regional construction benchmarks and provide detailed risk assessments for each project estimate.
• Prepare clear and detailed explanations of estimates, including man-hour allocations and required personnel resources for each task.
• Support project teams by providing real-time costing for on-site work requests, change orders, and research and design initiatives.
• Track and analyze key project metrics, perform complex data analysis, and generate reliable forecasts to support project planning.
• Assist in the development and review of standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training in Engineering, Construction Science, Technology, or Math.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience using design software in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with complex data research, data analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects.
• Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines, work independently or as part of a team, and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
• Aptitude for building design and willingness to specialize in pharmaceutical facilities design is a plus.
• Ability to make informed decisions, provide recommendations, and analyze information skillfully.

Qualifications:

• Experience in planning, scheduling, maintenance, or construction environments is preferred
• Oil and gas industry experience is preferred but not required
• SAP experience is preferred but not required, as Client will provide training on internal SAP processes
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are highly preferred
• Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset are required
• The candidate must be comfortable speaking and leading discussions in group settings, including MS Teams calls with 5–6 or more participants
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams is essential

Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule maintenance and construction activities
• Review and validate work notifications for accuracy and completeness
• Create and manage work orders (WOs) and purchase orders (POs)

The Role

As a Civil Designer, you'll be the engine behind our site plan sets. You won't just be \"drawing\"; you'll be building intelligent Civil 3D models, solving grading puzzles, and navigating the complexities of utility and drainage design. You'll work hand-in-hand with Project Managers and Engineers to transform concepts into permit-ready construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting: Prepare comprehensive civil site plan sets, including site layout, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and erosion control.
• Modeling Mastery: Build and maintain Civil 3D models using surfaces, feature lines, corridors, and pipe networks; perform earthwork quantities and basic takeoffs.
• Hydraulic Support: Assist with drainage design (inlet checks, pipe sizing, and detention layouts) and assemble calculations for submittals.
• Project Integration: Interpret surveys, plats, and geotechnical reports to create accurate base maps and incorporate multi-disciplinary redlines.
• Regulatory Navigation: Ensure all designs meet QA/QC standards, ADA accessibility, fire codes, and specific jurisdictional requirements.
• Permitting & Construction: Prepare submittal packages, respond to jurisdictional comments, and provide RFI or as-built support during the construction phase.

Qualifications

• Experience: ~5 years of dedicated civil/site design experience, specifically within the commercial or education sectors (retail, banks, schools).
• Software Expertise: High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Surfaces, Grading Tools, Pipe Networks, and Xrefs).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of site drainage, utility layout, and the typical organization of a 60/90/100% plan set.
• Compliance: Ability to read and apply municipal standards, ADA requirements, and local site codes.
• Education: A.S. or B.S. in Civil Engineering, Drafting/Design Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hydrology/hydraulics software (Civil 3D SSA, StormCAD, etc.).
• Familiarity with SWPPP/NPDES exhibits and submittal workflows.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft 365.

Position Summary:

Petrosmith, a trusted leader in the oilfield manufacturing and services industry, seeks an experienced and driven Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Senior Estimator with support our Sales team in developing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for engineered production and process equipment used in upstream and midstream oil and gas applications as well as other liquid and gas processing applications. This position is critical in ensuring the technical and commercial viability of our proposals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pressure vessels and skidded, packaged systems, along with a solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing practices.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides accurate cost estimating services for incoming quotes regarding tanks, pressure vessels, piping, skids, controls, instrumentations and other custom-engineered equipment.
• Analyze RFQs, specifications, and drawings to determine scope, materials, labor, and timelines.
• Interpret and modify Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure accurate and feasible estimates. Interpret and incorporate customer requirements and industry standards into estimates.
• Utilize Infor Syteline ERP system for BOMs, costing, and quote tracking (preferred).
• Maintain estimation documentation and support continuous improvement in estimating processes. Maintain and update the parts library, ensuring component pricing and specifications are current.
• Review and apply technical knowledge of pressure vessels, piping, and modular equipment packages.
• Support the Sales team with technical input during customer discussions and negotiations
• Cost Analysis: Develop, assemble, and submit detailed and competitive bid packages in strict accordance with client requirements and deadlines. Analyze historical data, unit costs, and labor productivity to identify trends, refine estimating standards, and improve bid accuracy.
• Value Engineering: Participate in value engineering efforts, providing alternative cost solutions, methods, and approaches to optimize profitability and meet client needs.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of estimating tools, databases, and best practices to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentorship and Training: Support the professional development of junior estimators and project staff through knowledge-sharing, coaching, and training initiatives.
• Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all estimate assumptions, pricing, and supporting data for internal review and audit purposes.
• Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, cost escalations, new technologies, and competitor capabilities to enhance the competitiveness of Petrosmith's bids.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration, or a related field preferred; extensive relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 7 years' progressive estimating experience in water filtration systems, oilfield surface product manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial construction environments, with a proven track record of successful project bids.
• Strong background in pressure vessels, ASME codes, and skidded/process systems.
• Working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes.
• Proficiency with MS Office software and specifically MS Excel.
• Familiarity with Compress (pressure vessel design software) is highly desirable.
• Experience with water treatment equipment is a plus.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical design standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems; Infor Syteline experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines.

Project Scheduler

Location: Greenway Plaza – Houston, TX

Salary: $80,000 to 120,000 annually

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules to support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects. This role partners closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure schedules are accurate, realistic, and aligned with project scope, budget, and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong scheduling expertise, experience working within the oil and gas industry, and the ability to collaborate across multi-discipline project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
• Integrate contractor and vendor schedules into a master project schedule
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule variances, risks, and delays
