Manufacturing Engineer – Precision Machining

Racine, WI | 1st Shift | $75,000 – $100,000 (DOE) | Direct Hire

Engauge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a precision machining operation in Racine, WI to hire a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working closely with production teams and supporting the full manufacturing lifecycle—from quoting to production launch.

The position works directly with Plant Manager, production leadership, and machine operators to support CAM programming, quoting, and process improvements across the shop.

Key Responsibilities

CAM Programming & Quoting

• Use SolidWorks and CAMWorks to generate machining programs and support quoting activities
• Develop G-code through CAMWorks to simulate machining processes and evaluate manufacturability
• Analyze customer prints and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies
• Generate accurate quotes by evaluating cycle times, tooling, materials, and process requirements
• Work with production teams to validate machining processes and ensure quote accuracy

Process Engineering & Production Support

• Develop machining routings and process strategies for production
• Troubleshoot machining issues with operators and leadership
• Optimize cycle times, tooling selections, and machining parameters
• Support new part introductions from quoting through production launch

Engineering & Documentation

• Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks
• Maintain process documentation, routings, and work instructions
• Manage part data, BOMs, and documentation in the ERP system (Plex experience preferred)
• Support quality planning including PFMEA, control plans, and inspection strategies

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and increase throughput
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency
• Support production teams with ongoing troubleshooting and process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
• 3–5+ years of engineering experience in a machining environment
• Strong experience with SolidWorks
• CAMWorks experience highly preferred
• Understanding of G-code and CNC machining processes
• Experience developing machining routings and cost estimates for quoting
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Plex preferred)
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

Note: CAMWorks experience is preferred but not required if the candidate has strong machining and quoting experience.

Job Title: Tractor Test Driver & Quality Inspector

Location: Racine, Wisconsin (WI)

Position Summary

The Tractor Test Driver & Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting structured test drives of new or serviced tractors to evaluate operational performance, safety, and overall product quality. This role identifies, documents, and communicates mechanical, functional, and quality-related issues observed during dynamic testing. The position collaborates closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Service teams to support root cause analysis and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform standardized and ad-hoc test drives of tractors on various terrains including paved surfaces, gravel tracks, fields, and slopes under varying load conditions and speeds.
• Evaluate and validate performance of critical systems including engine, transmission, PTO, hydraulics, steering, braking systems, 3-point hitch, auxiliary circuits, and implements.
• Identify and document issues related to NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), drivetrain irregularities, hydraulic lag or oscillation, steering drift, brake fade, electrical faults, sensor anomalies, and operator interface (HMI) defects.
• Conduct visual and functional inspections for leaks, loose components, misalignment, abnormal wear, sharp edges, fit and finish defects, and paint or coating issues.
• Use OEM diagnostic tools or data acquisition systems to verify CAN bus communication, read diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and capture operational data logs.
• Communicate findings and provide detailed reports to cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.
• Support root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions based on test results.
• Perform pre-operation safety inspections including checks of tires, fluid levels, lights, horn, ROPS, and seat belts.
• Recommend improvements to product design, assembly processes, and testing procedures based on operational observations.
• Follow all safety protocols and testing procedures during equipment operation and evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Agricultural Equipment Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating tractors or heavy/mobile equipment in agricultural, construction, industrial, testing, or service environments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate tractors with manual and hydrostatic transmissions.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, powertrain systems, and electrical systems.
• Experience with CAN diagnostics and reading diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, service manuals, and testing procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently climb on and off heavy equipment.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment during testing.

Work Environment

• Work will be performed both outdoors and in designated testing areas.
• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility clothing is required.

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Safety Certification.
• Forklift or mobile equipment operation certification (site-specific).
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• CDL not required; however, agricultural or heavy equipment operation training is considered a plus.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience in HVAC/MEP construction, with at least 2 years supporting mission critical or large-scale commercial projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction logistics, job cost accounting, and project financials.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) and familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Autodesk Build, Spectrum ERP, or equivalent).

Electrical Field Engineer

• Location: Mount Pleasant, WI
• Contract: 6 month contract-to-hire
• Schedule: 8am-5pm (Monday-Friday, full onsite)
• Pay: $60-$70/hr

Must Haves:

• 7+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Construction Engineer, etc.
• Very strong experience in low voltage, inside electrical, power distribution
• Bachelors degree + in electrical engineering
• Ability to understand one-line drawings, cable schedules, switch gear packages, cable management, etc.

What You’ll Do:

• Review and interpret electrical engineering drawings, including one-line diagrams, cable schedules, conduit layouts, and switchgear packages, ensuring alignment with project specifications and construction requirements.
• Collaborate with design engineers to review drawings and technical documentation, identify discrepancies or improvement opportunities, and communicate recommended updates to optimize constructability and system performance.
• Support the implementation of electrical designs in the field, working closely with construction teams to ensure installations align with approved drawings and engineering intent.
• Manage and maintain electrical drawing logs, redlines, and As-Builts, ensuring all field changes and updates are accurately documented and incorporated into final project records.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and subcontractors to resolve RFIs, technical questions, and design clarifications related to electrical systems.
• Provide technical support for electrical construction activities, including participation in construction planning, installation sequencing, and commissioning readiness.
• Track and report progress on electrical scopes of work, proactively identifying issues that could impact cost, schedule, safety, or quality and communicating them to the Project Manager.
