The Role:
We’re looking for a Community Manager to build and activate the Loops Lab community in New York through high-energy IRL moments and always-on digital engagement. You’ll be the bridge between the brand and real people, turning followers into members and members into advocates. This role also supports lead capture and content capture through events, pop-ups, and creator relationships to fuel the broader Loops Lab growth engine. This role reports to the CMO.

What you will do:
- Build and grow Loops Lab’s community presence in NYC (IRL + digital)
- Plan and execute IRL moments: pop ups, activations, meetups, partner events
- Source and manage relationships with creators + superfans + community advocates
- Support lead capture at events/pop ups (QR codes, giveaways, sign ups, simple tracking)
- Capture IRL content + UGC from events and community, and deliver weekly “content drops” to the Social Media Manager
- Share community insights weekly (what people love, objections, requests, trends) to inform content + GTM
- Manage day-to-day engagement across community channels (social DMs, comments, Discord/Slack/WhatsApp, email, etc.)
- Monitor all community channels daily and respond in a timely, brand-aligned way
- Answer questions, guide new members, and keep conversations active and welcoming
- Moderate discussions (spam, negativity, inappropriate behavior) and protect community culture
- Proactively spark engagement through prompts, polls, shoutouts, and mini-moments
- Build relationships with community creators and superfans to drive consistent organic UGC
- Curate, organize, and amplify UGC across Loops Lab channels, coordinating with Social/Marketing for reposts and campaigns
- Foster meaningful relationships with superfans, creators, and brand advocates
- Act as the voice of the community internally - sharing insights, feedback, and trends
- Collaborate with Social, Affiliate, and Marketing teams to activate the community around launches and campaigns
- Create programs that reward loyalty and participation

Who you are:
- 2–5+ years experience in community management, brand engagement, or social/community roles in the music / gaming / pop-culture sector.

Compensation:

As a machine learning intern at Pinterest, you'll work on tackling new challenges in machine learning and artificial intelligence. You'll conduct research that can be applied across Pinterest engineering teams and engage in external collaborations and mentoring, while also performing research in any of the following areas: image recognition, user modeling, recommender systems,search, ads, ranking, natural language processing, neural networks, personalization, graph representation learning, and big data analytics.

Internships are 12 weeks paid, with fixed start dates in May or June to accommodate varying school calendars. Depending on the team, our summer internships will be located either remote or hybrid in San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York or Seattle offices.
We offer 2 internship start dates:
- May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026
- June 15, 2026 - September 4, 2026
What you'll do:
- Lead your own project start to finish to contribute in cutting-edge research in machine learning and artificial intelligence that can be applied to Pinterest problems
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data and build intelligent data-driven models
- Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code
- Use machine learning, natural language processing, and graph analysis to solve modeling and ranking problems across discovery, ads and search
- Scope and independently solve moderately complex problems
- Demonstrate accountability for the quality and completion of your tasks and projects, collaborating with your team and seeking guidance as needed.
What we're looking for:
- Working towards a PhD in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences or related field
- Proficiency in at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python) or one ML framework (Tensorflow, Pytorch, MLFlow)
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop/Spark) and scalable realtime systems that process stream data
- Experience in research and in solving analytical problems
- Strong communicator and team player with the ability to find solutions for open-ended problems.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Publications in machine learning, AI, data science, data analytics, statistics, or related technical fields
- Interest in research and in applying ML to impactful real-world problems on the Pinterest product
