Seed IP Law Group is seeking a patent attorney with an electrical engineering background with three to five years of patent drafting and prosecution experience in a law firm, in-house, or with a university tech transfer department. Plan, design and oversee projects for substantial new construction, renovation and improvement projects for real property facilities encompassing highly specialized or unique requirements.
Conducts site visits to document conditions.
Leads the preparation of written reports.
Perform QC of designs for electrical and communications projects.
Serve as a technical consultant concerning facilities planning, design, construction and/or maintenance for different categories of facilities; determines resources and performs long-range planning.
Delegates tasks and plans; executes and manages scopes, schedules and budgets.
Serves as responsible charge of projects (DOR).
Review consultant-prepared design drawings, indicate basic design corrections, prepare technical specifications, and review engineering plans for compliance with numerous regulatory acts.
Prepare specifications for construction cost estimates.
Evaluate contract bids, make recommendations to higher-level engineers regarding feasibility studies and assist in the management of large-scale construction projects.
Prepares project budgets and schedules for proposal efforts.
Use construction inspection report data to prepare payment estimates as a recommendation for payment of contractors.
Mentor junior-level staff.
Education/Requirements: BS in Electrical Engineering.
Current Professional Engineering license (North Carolina or Georgia) and ability to be licensed by comity in other states.
Minimum 20 years of Electrical and Communication Design experience.
Extensive working knowledge of applicable design and building codes.
Experience Administering and Managing Construction Contracts.
RCDD preferred (not required).
LEED AP certification preferred (not required).
Computer proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD
