The Systems Effectors: Processing, Guidance & Control Center is responsible for algorithm development including Guidance, Navigation, and Control; radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO-IR) Signal Processing (SP); and missile- and sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for Raytheon's broad portfolio of projects, programs, and products. In the GNC department, we design, integrate, and optimize effector guidance, tracking, navigation, and estimation algorithms to meet mission objectives. The Effectors PG&C Center is currently hiring for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer position in Tucson, AZ to support execution of the portfolio of current and upcoming missile programs. As a Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping with the evaluation, design, implementation, and integration of embedded software algorithms. You will collaborate with a team of engineers in an integrated product team that will be responsible for tactical embedded software, firmware, and integrated flight software 6 Degrees-of-Freedom simulations to achieve overall system performance requirements. This position is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ. 

What You Will Do

• Development, integration, and testing of embedded tactical missile flight code

• Definition and execution of system level performance studies and analyses to inform the development and integration of new capabilities, refinement of existing capability, or to address obsolescence

• Work within an agile framework to lead development of backlogs, plans, and metrics

• Provide experience and guidance to help the program train new engineers and execute efficiently and effectively

• Support missile performance analysis including model development, system optimization, and Monte Carlo assessments with expected system disturbances.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience

• GNC, Signal Processing, and/or Modeling / Simulation experience

• Engineering experience in missile system applications to include at least one of the following:

  • Digital and/or modern control systems

  • Dynamics

  • Kalman filter design

  • Monte Carlo analysis

  • Development and/or simulation of physical systems

  • Signal processing

  • Verification and validation

  • System-level performance assessments

  • GPS/INS navigation systems, sensors, and algorithms

  • Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) systems, sensors, and algorithms for navigation in GPS-degraded environments

• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and/or Object-Oriented design

• Experience with GNC and/or Signal Processing algorithms within a simulation or physical environment

• Experience managing or leading others in a technical and/or functional capacity within an engineering environment

The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon Missile Defense products. The Mechanical Engineering group in the Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a multi-discipline team to support design and upgrades of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems.

This is an onsite role and located in Tucson, AZ.  

What You Will Do:

• Utilizing strong mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, and electronics integration

• Supporting all phases of programs from capture and concept development through production

• Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of electronics for multiple military programs

• Supervising the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and delivering the final technical data package

• Employing transition-to-production practices with the ability to lead a design release into production

• Tracking, reporting, and meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product, including Earned Value (EV) management and Estimate at Complete (EAC) inputs

• Preparing proposal inputs on behalf of the product area

• Providing technical conscience, challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements while helping to remove roadblocks

• Working with minimal direction or supervision, while exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment while meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product.

• Leading a small team of mechanical engineers when required

• Interacting frequently with senior personnel, occasionally including external customers, on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the design of electronics packaging for military or aerospace or commercial applications

• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances)

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance 

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with ANSI drawing standards and/or first order or structural analysis techniques.

• Experience with design to military standards

• Strong technical background with high technical aptitude

• Strong leadership skills and project management, sub contract management experience

• Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software

• Cognizant of machine suppliers’ capabilities or have direct experience in a manufacturing and assembly support role for producibility

• Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, structures, and electronics assemblies

• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Very strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members and customers

• Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering

What You Will Do:

As a Sr. Manufacturing Development Engineer you’ll lead and coordinate projects and improvements across the extended value streams by providing technical manufacturing support to a program from the early development phases through transition to production.

In this highly visible role, you’ll leverage your technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall program value stream.

Typical Responsibilities will Include:

• Participation in manufacturing and test requirements development
• Design for manufacturing activities
• Manufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibility

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
• Providing technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes.
• Providing technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers
