ARM Group LLC is seeking a Civil or Environmental Project Manager with land development experience to join our fast-growing Energy and Power practice. In this role, you will manage development projects for renewable energy installations, working at the intersection of sustainable energy and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, geologists, CAD designers, and administrative staff to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet our clients' energy goals.

As a Project Manager, you will oversee stormwater management design, erosion and sediment control planning, and related land development engineering for solar, wind, and other energy & power projects. You will apply your technical expertise to complete engineering calculations, prepare detailed reports, and develop design drawings using CAD Software. This role requires strong communication skills, as you will regularly interface with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal project teams to ensure project success.

Location: This position can be filled in our Columbia, MD office.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Manage and coordinate the development, design and permitting of multiple projects simultaneously for various projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region (ARM territory) with a primary focus in Maryland.

· Prepare and review engineering designs and permit applications in order to acquire approvals.

· Maintain complex schedules, develop project timelines, coordinate with subcontractors, and manage people and materials, acting as the direct point of contact for all stakeholders, in order to complete jobs on schedule and within budget guidelines.

· Monitor project work progress, adhering to the scope of work, and communicating with key stakeholders.

· Assess and mitigate project risks; Pro-actively recognize problems and develop effective solutions.

· Perform quality assurance and quality control evaluations and/or check technical calculations and prepare project specifications.

· Prepare detailed models and technical documents to present project design/feasibility findings to stakeholders.

· Evaluate the economic, engineering, or pragmatic feasibility of projects based on site and/or building constraints (i.e., constructability assessment).

Requirements

· Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, or other mid-Atlantic state(s).

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from an accredited four-year college or university.

· 5+ years of experience designing and permitting projects involving land development or land use permitting.

· Experience with stormwater management plans, erosion & sediment control planning and permitting (NPDES).

· Knowledge of State environmental regulations and experience navigating local permitting authorities for zoning, subdivision, and stormwater ordinances.

· Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects.

· Creative and detail-oriented team player with a strong work ethic, self-motivated mindset, and eagerness to grow.

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with key stakeholders, including officials and environmental regulators, to exchange information, clearly explain the project goals, obtain permit approvals, coordinate compliance efforts.

· Articulate, confident and able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

· Experience managing vendor and client payment terms to achieve positive cash flow by reviewing project billings, accounts receivable, monitoring work in progress preparing client invoices and assisting with payment collection.

· Reasonably proficient in AutoCAD, Hydrocad (or alternate stormwater modeling software), MS Office Suite, and MS Project or equivalent project scheduling software.

About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Manage architecture and engineering design projects from proposal through project closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and budgets.
• Coordinate internal design teams including architects, engineers, and technical staff.
• Ensure projects meet technical, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Monitor project progress and adjust resources as necessary to maintain schedule and budget.

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead project meetings, design reviews, and client presentations.
• Manage client expectations and maintain strong long-term relationships.
• Communicate project status, risks, and progress updates.

Design Coordination

• Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts across architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines.
• Ensure integration of design components across all project phases (concept, schematic design, design development, construction documents).
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables for completeness and quality.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and client requirements.

Budget & Contract Management

• Prepare and manage project budgets and staffing plans.
• Track project costs, labor utilization, and profitability.
• Manage project contracts, scope changes, and amendments.
• Review and approve invoices, consultant payments, and change orders.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor project teams, including junior engineers and designers.
• Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external consultants.
• Delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
• Foster collaboration and a high-performance project culture.

Construction Phase Support

• Support construction administration activities including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in site visits.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders during construction.
• Assist in resolving design or construction issues that arise in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering.
• 5–10+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design environments.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience managing design projects from concept through construction.
• Strong understanding of design processes, project delivery methods, and permitting requirements.

On-Road Field Diesel Mechanic

SNI has an immediate need for an On-Road Field Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established and successful residential and commercial site developer!

The successful On-Road Field Diesel Mechanic will have experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy diesel-powered equipment at various job sites throughout the Baltimore, Maryland area.

You will be provided with a company truck and will be tasked with working on heavy equipment and diesel engine mechanics, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a field environment.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Perform on-site maintenance and repairs of heavy diesel-powered equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction machinery.
• Travel to various job sites to diagnose and resolve mechanical and diesel engine issues.
• Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections of diesel engines and associated systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Drive and maintain the company-provided service truck.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to light trucks as needed.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment and diesel engine maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills, with a focus on diesel engines.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities, especially with diesel systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Light truck maintenance and repair experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Post-secondary degree or certification in heavy equipment/diesel mechanics is preferred but not required.
• Experience with diagnostic tools.
