Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Lewis Center, OH
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the effective implementation of engineering designs into manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain work standards, routings, standard operating instructions (SOEs), and manufacturing processes.
- Communicate manufacturing capabilities, preferences, and limitations to design engineering, quality engineering, and cost accounting teams.
- Recommend the purchase of equipment and tooling to support production requirements and improve cost efficiency and throughput.
- Participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process to ensure proper coordination and implementation of engineering changes within manufacturing.
- Execute project-related work, including feasibility studies; equipment specification, design, justification, and implementation; material handling and packaging requirements; manufacturing systems and procedures; and process documentation.
- Accurately represent manufacturing floor capabilities and proactively identify opportunities to enhance and refine those capabilities.
- Assist management in developing and conducting formal procedures, investigations, and root-cause analyses to address quality issues and recommend corrective actions, both verbally and in writing.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of products, equipment, tools, supplies, part handling, and inventory points in accordance with 7S initiatives.
- Support production scheduling by guiding associates in completing fabrication schedules, tracking and reporting schedule performance, and developing recovery action plans as needed.
- Collaborate closely with scheduling, management, and manufacturing teams to coordinate fabricated parts schedules and material requirements, ensuring smooth work center flow.
- Coordinate and manage machine preventive maintenance (PM) activities in partnership with associates and the maintenance department.
- Track, analyze, and take action on departmental quality metrics and in-process inspection results.
- Train associates to support operational excellence and performance standards.
- Assist in meeting departmental production schedules by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions for performance gaps.
- Contribute to team objectives by completing related tasks or rotating through various processes or job functions as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to ESD, PPE, company work rules, and safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and feedback on CNC programs to continuously improve efficiency and manufacturing capability.
- Perform all duties in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Ideal Candidates -
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in a related manufacturing engineer position
- Minimum of 10 years industrial engineering or related industry with manufacturing experienced required
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 and 6S
- Good Knowledge in metal fabrication and mechanical assembly methods
