Maintenance Supervisor

Full-time

Plainfield, IN

Compensation DOE: up to $110,000

Schedule: First Shift

Our client in Plainfield, IN is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure production equipment, machinery, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this role, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians, manages preventive maintenance programs, supports root cause analysis for equipment failures, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs maintenance activities for injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment.
  • Leads the maintenance department, including reviewing and approving preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and manages all preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Builds and develops a high-performing mechanical and preventive maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance, high line efficiency, and proper parts inventory management.
  • Oversees external contractors performing facility installations and project work.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to support production needs and meet customer deadlines.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates employees; partners with HR on discipline, terminations, and staffing needs.
  • Provides oversight for safety initiatives and enforces all safety standards and requirements.
  • Fosters a positive and productive work environment.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve working conditions and equipment usage to increase operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoots and assists staff in resolving work-related issues.
  • Maintains accurate time, maintenance, and equipment records.
  • Develops capital expenditure proposals for new equipment and technology to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
  • Estimates, requests, and inspects materials as needed.
  • Ensures a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment
  • 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • 4 years of experience managing people and/or projects
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environment
  • 6 years of experience in a similar role
  • 6 years of experience managing people and/or projects

Education:

  • Required: Associate’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field/vocational discipline
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field/vocational discipline
