This I4.0 Automation role merges technical, manufacturing leadership to drive automation sustainment across Raytheon. The role has a foundation in controls programming but offers significant opportunities for growth through technical leadership, employee development, and coordination across functions to execute initiatives. What You Will Do

Provide troubleshooting and debug support for 30+ pieces of custom robotic systems around the factory
Provide technical leadership through issue resolution
Lead sustainment meetings to prioritize issues and track through resolution using Azure DevOps
Technical liaison between factory, facilities, and leadership for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), spares management, and production sustainment execution
Support production prove-in of new automation equipment
Provide troubleshooting and debug support for production systems.
Contribute to the overall manufacturing technology strategy for the business.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibitedby local laws/regulations or 7+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering.
Experience in integrating control systems (i.e. actuators, sensors, controls, robotics, and vision systems).
Experience in PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell preferred)
Experience programming robots (Fanuc preferred)
Knowledge of safety standards and compliance (OSHA, NFPA, RIA)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required on day 1 (active or interim). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Systems Engineer II to join our Tucson, AZ location. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus.

What You Will Do

In this Systems Engineer role, you may support some of the following types of activities:

Core Systems Engineering: Update, maintain, and improve requirements. Develop system architecture and model using Model Based Systems Engineering. Conduct trade studies based on Concept of Operations. Collaborate with engineers of all disciplines.
Perform Test Planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing
Integrate Systems: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact. Evaluate test results for requirements compliance.
Create/modify documentation in support of design reviews and in preparation for test events.
Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution
Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
Understanding of the Systems Engineering product lifecycle
Experience with performing performance analysis and presenting analytical and technical material
Experience with DOORS, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
Experience with model-based engineering and associated tools
Experience in developing and managing requirements.
Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
Experience with generating technical documentation, such as trade studies, test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
